Also the last season of Picard was basically that.
A necessary but likely insufficient condition for the restoration of US credibility in the international system will be ratification of the Rome Statute. Domestic prosecution of the current regime will be subject to presidential pardon and therefore unreliable.

Seeing a lot of headlines that imply Noem was fired because she was so combative at yesterday's hearing and not because she tried to hide behind Trump when asked about corruption.

...creates shared experience. We're all alone in our thoughts most of the time. We share many things: physical space, food, music. We share our thoughts through words, and writing is where we think more expansively, deliberately. Sharing that with a computer is meaningless. With a person...
Some suggest that there's no difference in having a friend, colleague, or editor read and make suggestions for a manuscript versus having an LLM do it. But the difference is profound. Reading something with enough precision to notice typos or the sustained attention to offer thoughtful feedback...
I'm thinking about this to express what I find so repulsive about LLMs (yes, repulsive). They push us further away from one another. They take our words and sever them from their source, from people, "the thing" that computers promised to get us to.
The tech entrepreneur whose line this is ends up becoming an academic, a "professor of humanities." Leaving aside the fact that I have never seen this particular disciplinary title (the writers might know more about personal computing than academics), it's a perfect coda for the character.
... but its true genius is the long development of complex relationships between and among characters. The show honors the ethos of the statement. The evolution of personal computing is just a vehicle for exploring friendship, family, and community. SPOILER (minor) in next post...
There's a line from the excellent Halt and Catch Fire that sticks with me: "computers aren't the thing, they're the thing that gets you to the thing," spoken by a tech entrepreneur. "The thing" is people, human connection. The show is fun w/r/t it's fictional story arc through late 20th C. tech...
I'm afraid I can't agree with you on summarizing info. All of this requires thinking: choosing the attributes of theories for comparison, classifying those theories along selected attributes, comparing them, etc.
But I've seen people try to defend all aspects of writing (first draft to copyediting) as valid as long as you have final say. "Your own" apparently meaning something along the lines of final ownership/approval.
What are the boundaries of writing, though? And can't you say the same thing for reading?
