Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM

We're at a point where there are no cheap options to retreat to and no price points that guarantee quality. Every run-down studio is $1400, every fast food meal is $17, every luxury condo has peel-n-stick tiles, every $300 pair of boots falls apart. Endless expensive mediocrity.

A pencil illustration of Hades and Persephone. The two are embracing, with Hades appearing sad and Persephone reassuring. Crocuses bloom in the foreground, and Persephone's hair is also full of blossoming crocuses; both a sign of the approaching spring, which perhaps is why Hades is sad. It's time for Persephone to return to the upper world!
I got this drawing of Hades and Persephone finished up today as well. I'll adjust the color and contrast in photoshop and get it printed on watercolor paper to start painting! π (I also see a few proportional issues to fix before proceeding π€¨)

(Beartato and Reginald, in a museum, gaze upon the Mona Lisa)
BEARTATO: There it is. The Mona Lisa. The most famous painting in history.
REGINALD: Wow! What's it do?
BEARTATO: It... what?
REGINALD: Why's it famous? What's it do?
(Beartato thinks.)
BEARTATO: I don't know.
REGINALD (to nearly museum employee): Excuse me! Sir? What's it do?
EMPLOYEE: You're the first person to ask! Watch this!
(The employee yanks a pull-string. Mona Lisa's eyes spin around and her mouth opens like a puppet)
MONA LISA: Honk honk! Honk honk!
(Everyone is delighted. This is true art.)

a graph of year-on-year change in US tech employment
Brutal numbers for US tech sector jobs released todayβoverall, employment decreased by 12k last month and is down 57k over the last year
That's now nearly as bad as the worst of the 2024 tech-cession, and significantly worse than either the 2008 or 2020 recessions

A kitchen counter with a cursed square waffle and cursed waffle iron on it with that βoptimally packed 17 squaresβ layout that is deeply unsettling to look at. The outer parts are aligned to a square but there are 7 squares in the middle at various angles and it looks like complete nonsense but it is in fact the most compact way to store 17 squares in a larger square.
I have no idea where this came from and whoever made it should go to jail.
You may not like it, but this is the optimal way to construct a waffle with exactly 17 squares.

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads:
The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you.
And our governments are very much the same...
- Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
