it was like an extra level of dramatic punctuation enhancing the imagery of sacrifice and the satisfaction of a prologue. or something

elle something magical happened with my reading experience bc my computer cursor is like. a Colorful Fish. so it displayed that while hovering over all the pages but because the final prologue page isn't a link it turned into the bloody sword There and i only noticed it Then. it was Cool n Epic

The tied-arch Binondo–Intramuros Bridge at sunset, a small motorized boat passing beneath. The watercolor skies, the reflection of the bridge, the ripples on the river, and the wake of the boat create a play of smoky greys on the pale golden light.

13.5 spreads worth of tiny comic pages with very vague, blobby colors and shapes. Most are dark bluish with pops of yellow and orange. A few pages are mostly greyscale with red.

one more set of color thumbnails! Once I got deeper into the project, I didn't need to make these as much as I've already built up a library. I would reuse palettes for plot symbolism. There were also a lot of mundane scenes in the 'default' colors that didn't need a draft.

Just finished my favorite spread in this whole graphic novel. I had such a clear vision of it from the very start, even before I finalized some character designs. Now it's real before my eyes...

I hope if you pick up my comic it'll be really obvious which one it is hehe (the panelling goes crazy)

Do other comic writers ever end up with that one 8-panel page with like 20+ lines of (mostly short) dialogue in the lettering script and have to grab like Maus or such off the shelf to flip through and start counting balloons to reassure yourselves "oh this is still readable and not cluttered"

first three spreads here are from a separate part of the comic (but in order), the remainder of these are all from the same continuity! I <3 color transitions.

As you can imagine, I usually have to make color thumbnails for scenes with special lighting, so a lot of these are at sunset/night.

I tried to do an all-Black author reading month this February and technically I succeeded, it's just that it's only three authors because most of the month was taken up by The Count of Monte Cristo

Thinking of doing a House-themed reading month. Does anyone have suggestions. Right now I have House of Leaves and Piranesi on the docket and I'm very excited.

Open to books that are only loosely House-adjacent too like if they just have 'house' or 'room' or 'door' or whatever in the title, lol
