It actually doesn't matter whether this war is unpopular or not if you have a party that clearly has no intention of getting re-elected through democratic means.

He was rambling on about the war he got us into and veered off into curtain talk, then seamlessly continued on to discuss the men that have lost their lives.
He did that so easily because he doesn’t care about the dead. His ability to pick curtains is just as important and must be mentioned.

You couldn’t make this up.
