I think more democratic governments should tell Trump to just fuck off instead of trying to be nice to him to avoid making him angry
@fentiger.wtf
I first showed up here while experimenting with decentralised/distributed social media software. A few real-life friends are starting to show up now, though. Hmm. AKA @FenTiger on the Fediverse, or Wrongfellow in a few other places.

Will it also transcribe the Teams call that I'm half listening to while also trying to get some work done?
Show them to me. I can handle them. ;)

Cool deep-dive into Wafrn's dual-protocol experience.
I always say Wafrn is Bridgy Fed turned up to 11. Instead of depending on a bridge to bring you content, the platform treats both atproto and ActivityPub as native.
a screenshot of the body of the text showing a laundry list of updates to the atmosphere. its too long to fit in the alt text description, so youll have to read the entire article sorry
this week's atmosphere and fediverse news, with now three approaches to private data, and a whole bunch of atproto project updates and news

I just merged chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/s..., so in some limited form, this is the first commit that defines a somewhat functioning <login> element :)
I can't wait to take this for a spin!
What a lot of IANA considerations. I don't think I've ever seen so many in the same place before.
Alright, I finished my migration and have a brand new did!
I don't have any followers and it is possible this account will be a little stale!!!
It is my own PDS too, so it is possible this won't work :)
Let's find out!
ssh is an obscure but widely-deployed command. It stands for Secure Snake Home and was made in the 90s to securely play snake online
I made a massively multiplayer backend for it with support for thousands of concurrent snake players
ssh snakes.run to join!
Nice design. Stops the cat from knocking it off. ;)
Is this the one that keeps telling me "the weather is unavailable"?
And then, when I look out of the window, there it is, right where I always expect it to be.
XMPP was what iβd call a fairly advanced and technical protocol and it still powered some of the most user friendly chat apps (for example Tlen in poland)
itβs not about the protocol itself, itβs about how itβs presented to the user
Some universal truths about chat protocols:
1. you do not need federation, IRC figured it out already, itβs called connecting to a bunch of servers, what you need is persistent identity
2. E2EE makes no sense the bigger the group gets
3. one instance should be able to fit more than one community
Well I'll continvouch for you ;)
When I'm a billionaire, I'll get a solid gold one, with Trump's face engraved exactly at the point where my piss hits it.
Customer: "Hey, we found a bug in your stuff. Here's a .pcap which triggers it. Can you fix it?"
Us: "Sure, we fixed it, and we added your .pap as a test case!"
<repeat several times>
<years elapse>
Me: "This .pcap looks like a capture from a live network. Are we sure we're don't have [β¦]
"I'm very sorry - you're right. I did add your social app contacts to your encrypted group chats by mistake. Mea culpa! Would you like me to try again?"
It's a heck of a lot simpler than permissioned data, too!
I finally gave in to temptation, and changed my handle and avatar to match my Fediverse, Discord etc identities.
Anyone who might have recognised the old avatar will just have to guess who I am ;)
If you have nine lives then risking them just isn't so much of a thrill.
Cool, I'm now an Invited Expert with the W3C FedID Working Group, which allows me to better advocate the for needs of decentralized social web when it comes to FedCM and related technologies
Looking forward to working with the other working group members on these topics!

"I came face to face with my daemons ... and I containerized them!"
This is my basic view of it, too.
I suppose the other thing I dislike about these terms is the similarity with "on-chain" and "off-chain", as used by ... certain grifters.
These terms only make sense if there is some kind of "King of Protocols", which is raised on a pedestal above all others.
Is that what #ATProto is?
Is that what it should be?
I'm sure @erlend.sh and @zicklag.dev would love it if you added roomy.space to this!
Wait until you hear them say "buoy".
"Voof", surely? ;)
