Amazing how constantly having to call meetings like this, begging them not to jack up the prices of fuel, food, homes, etc etc, never seems to make them question whether the laws are robust enough in the first place

A huge reason for a lot of the housing and social problems that we have in Ireland in 2026: when the banking crash happened in 2008, there was this narrative that people in negative equity were the biggest victims of all.

Getting house prices back up was seen as "fixing the economy".

Plenty of politicians today (justifiably) concerned about schools having dramatic cuts to SNA allocations for the forthcoming school year.

After a root around I can find one (one) TD who raised issue when the NCSE signalled the soft policy change in a revised policy document that led to these cuts.

I was wearing hi vis when a motorist drove into me. Passengers in the car got out to tell me the driver was really upset because she didn't see me. I didn't have much sympathy as I was picking gravel out of my hands.

I was visible. She didn't look.
