Thrilled to be back on set with so many of my favorite actors.
I learned a long ago never to try to predict what the fans will or won't argue about (everybody needs to relax, frankly; I just saw a whole chain of people foaming at the mouth over fan-made AI slop posters for The Exorcist)... but yeah, this isn't a retread. The differences start page 1.
I love Darabont's film, and there's zero point in remaking it. Which is why I'm going in a different direction. :)
With Dark Tower, I can’t control the legal side of it or the green light process - but everything that IS within my control is getting the best I’ve got.
And FWIW, I got the same “but why” comments for The Haunting of Hill House, Bly Manor, House of Usher, Carrie, The Exorcist, and even Ouija: Origin of Evil. Also got it for Life of Chuck. I’ve been lucky so far in my career to only take on projects I’m really excited about.
The Mist is going to be great. If there wasn’t an excellent answer to “why”, I wouldn’t do it.
A few reasons: first, no one's ever approached me to do it, so it's never been an option, but second (& most importantly) I don't see a new way into that story for me. I don't have a new idea, and anything I'd bring to the table I already explored in Midnight Mass. That one isn't for me.
I started as an editor, it was my full time job for over a decade before they let me make movies. And I cut a lot of reality TV, which means you have to be FAST. Editing is where I feel the most confident. Everything grew out of that.
We are absolutely cool. 😎
Thank you sir!
Not at all. :)
Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and keep making the projects I want to make, but thank you!
As usual, an excellent piece by @brezwrites.bsky.social www.esquire.com/entertainmen...

Cobra Kai isn't a Netflix original - it moved to Netflix in season 3. Someone else probably held the physical media rights in that deal (same reason Hill House and Bly Manor were released on blu-ray by Paramount). Midnight Mass is Netflix original, wholly owned by them.
Done!
Happy birthday Alex!
:)
Yeah… this is new.
I'm so excited to work with Chiwetel again! And more to come, very soon... deadline.com/2026/02/the-...

ICE shot a mother in the face.
ICE kidnapped a 5 year-old boy.
ICE executed a man on the street.
It’s time to tear down this secret police force.
The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.
An aging, increasingly unpopular leader with autocratic impulses sends masked agents into opposition areas to provoke unrest. Those agents shoot an unarmed civilian observer after disarming him, obstruct evidence collection, and the government then lies about it publicly.
When you explain it plainly, it’s hard not to see where we are as a country.
Having failed in embarrassing fashion to bully Greenland/Denmark/Europe, America's president returns to trying and failing to bully Canada.
