It's pretty wild how much I adored the opening half of RE9 and how bored I am with the second half. Pretty steep drop off! There could me more in store that I will love again, but right now, I'm not sure where I'll end up on it.

The Twilight Mirage soundtrack is one of the most wonderful things I've ever put in my ears

A nicely saturated and blurry on the outer edges landscape shot of power lines, a chip shop, and a snowy hillside
Got one of those disposable camera lenses that fits a DSLR. Finicky to dial in, but it does immediately have the look.
I'm loving these science fantasy type ones!
I need this
Critics are saying AMELIA, my new modern lo-fi low-life crime heist, "rips" and is "great!" How will you deal with Benny and his plan to steal and scrap Harbour Grace's Amelia Earhart statue? And will the locals let him get away with it? meatcastlegameware.itch.io/amelia
b/w analogue photo of a shopping estate at night. the paint is peeling, and only one unit is lit.

Additionally, writing grimy crime scenarios helps the mechanical layer hit the rest of the writing in a really nice "fruitful void" kind of way. I do the legwork (name, items, location, etc.) and you get to decide why this random social worker is "Elite in violence" and how that manifests. Fun!
The fun thing about writing for Violence the last few days is that the system falls almost entirely into the background and I can just write very naturally. A mundane and modern setting helps even more because we all know the world so I can focus on the interesting aspects, the odd characters, etc.
Bluesky messed up the preview image in that link so here's a screenshot, as a treat.
I wrote a lo-fi, low-life heist scenario for @lukegearing.bsky.social's Violence featuring a rural Newfoundland town, a bronze statue, and one man intent on stealing it. It's free, and you can get it here: meatcastlegameware.itch.io/amelia
Wrote a little violent haiku for @lukegearing.bsky.socialβs Violence. Check it out! discodanlives.itch.io/truck-a-scen...
You're bagmaxxing in an elementarycore way.
Also, I think I do that partially cus of the anime. Where Pikachu is just Pikachu and whatnot. Not like Lil Bob.
I never really have! I didn't originally because they didn't all have unique little sprites when in the inventory and I didn't care about enough of the 150 to remember all their names, and if I wasn't gonna do it with all of em, I didn't wanna do it with any of them.
Current Squad
Wow, I can totally imagine that. You'd have totally gotten used to it.
For what it's worth, I actually love the Trailway near me (I'm just writing this as a dark/creepy/depressing scenario). Also, I really wish the island still had trains! I'd love to go to Gros Morne via one.
Gonna kick this out into the world here in a day or two in peak minimalist style, as is the Violence way.
eight hours left on this. probably less now. cos of how time works
Boy, everything is really just quite tiring and very hard, isn't it?
Oh yes
Wow. Why don't you tell that to everyone who already died?!
Screenshot of a Google Doc reading: Amelia A scenario for one or more players. For use with Violence. Harbour Grace's Amelia Earhart statue sits unattended and unnoticed during the long winter months. Street prices and rent just went up - but so did bronze.
Doing a Violence
The "sort of like" description here is reason enough to check this out imo.
Us Puzzmonauts have to watch each other's backs!

This one is a Game Boy Color game. You just download the .GBC file and play it on there!
Tossing this on my Anbernic ASAP
God, I'm trying - but it's tough these days!
