Apparently I'm at the point of my career where I was about to shrug and assume I'd have no new publications for my annual report, but then a recommendation to accept a paper I'd forgotten about (it's been in review heck for over a year) decides to drop on a random Sunday.

Really like this as it keeps the acknowledgement that I teach adults and life happens, but also provides a systematic way to push students to reengage with the course if they aren't showing up (for *any* reason).
Also I never have to decide what's "excusable" or "unexcusable" ever again.
