The workshop will combine talks with discussions and practical sessions. The aim is not to find a one-size-fits-all solution to the ethical dilemmas raised by historical medical photography, but to empower participants in their ethical decision-making empnetwork.our.dmu.ac.uk/2026/02/26/e... Apply!

I'm sure their student experience sucked but none of the points they raise are our fault? Lockdowns? A horrible job market? Facilities that are difficult to book *because they're available to all students*? Isolation living in a big city?Students not engaging in online seminars? This is so depressing
We are advertising 4 jobs at York for historians (1 year medieval, 2 years modern Britain and public history, 3 years modern China, and open ended modern Middle Eastern) features.york.ac.uk/history-jobs/
Four dental phantoms sitting on stands with square bases. The tops of these dental phantoms are polished, shiny silver, with the denture-like false teeth, mouths wide open, framed by pink or orange-pink gums.
As part of the new special issue on "The Intersection of Humanities and Ethics in Dentistry," you can now read open access my article "The Dental Phantom as a Tool for Exploring Fear, the Face, and Dental Education." π¦·
Hoping to turn this into a much bigger project!

Absolutely. Although when I asked about the EDI impact assessment of their redundancy proposals they were satisfied with the results. Make of that what you wish...
I could tell you what the impact of voluntary, "voluntary" and compulsory redundancies has been based on gender, but you can probably guess
It's so frustrating but then so satisfying when it finally clicks!
In some ways I'm philosophical about The End these days. It is what it is. But for the final wave to hit because of the crisis when we worked the hardest we possibly could, we nearly broke ourselves, and did exactly what the govt told us to do? It seems.. painful.
There is still time to register for tomorrow's seminar by the one and only Donna West Brett! 3 weeks to decide, 9 months salary to choose to leave - almost certainly forever - the industry you've dedicated most of your adult life to.
Of course π€¦πΌββοΈ
I'm sure you've thought of this, but have you called the health visitor? They might have more information about what they're doing in the area. Good luck, it must be so stressful!!
So⦠does anyone know if there are any plans to implement 6 month MMR vaccines in (north?) london given the huge measles outbreak currently happening there
If children were more politically active they would be quite pissed to be told that their screen time is βthe most urgent public health issueβ while the largest measles outbreak since the vaccine sweeps their schools because of conspiracies that the adults in their life believed from social media.
PHRCβs Research Seminars in Photographic Cultures & Heritage | Join us this Thurs, 19 Feb 2026, 5:30pm (GMT/UTC) for a talk by Donna West Brett, who will look at the rise of the photobook and its cultural and political uses. Attendance free but registration required: shorturl.at/YvVTs. All welcome!
guy looking at institutions still structured around the lives and preferences of celibate men from the medieval period: of course the problem is that woman from my old department who did 75% of the admin roles
Really enjoying the international women's day initiatives that ask for free labor to celebrate women while so many female colleagues have left or have been let go
