Yes, it's the one with the most power to actually make that happen. To rebuke a Democrat who is attacking a fellow Democrat - a big no-no, we're told, and from someone in his own state to boot - would send a strong message.

If you need it dumbed down: it is far, far worse that it's the NY gov.

STATEMENT BY GOVERNOR DAVID PATERSON ON NEW YORK CITY MAYORAL RACE

NEW YORK-Following a morning press conference outside of WABC Radio's studios calling for unity within the Democratic Party in advance of November's election, New York State's 55th governor, David Paterson, released the following statement. Paterson also previously served as Democratic State Party Chair.
"I have been very clear in my position that I simply do not believe Zohran Mamdani is the best person to lead New York City in these extremely turbulent times. We just saw a federal budget passed and signed that will create havoc on New Yorkers in the coming years in our education system, the health care community and for hard-working families already struggling to make ends meet. We cannot afford ideas without a plan for implementation or funding.
Mr. Mamdani ran a successful Primary campaign, with tremendous ads and a well-done social media strategy that engaged young voters in a way we have not seen to date. However, the General Election is a very different electorate that encompasses the entirety of the city. I truly believe my fellow Democrats will be doing a disservice to the people they wish to serve if they do not come together and decide to support whichever candidate has the most support among them in advance of November 4th.
We are living in a critically important time in our country's history and the most populous city in America will need true leadership to navigate this moment. That leadership will need to show itself in the coming months, before ballots are printed and voters start returning ballots by mail.
As public polls and surveys are revealed over these coming weeks, it is my hope and belief that the other candidates still in the race will come to the logical conclusion that New York City needs the most effective leader to navigate what comes next and that cannibalizing each other's support will be doing a disservice to the millions of people who call New York 'home'."

A governor cannot be considered a simple "local politician". He is the leader of a state calling for "fellow Democrats" to ignore the will of the people and run a conservative Democratic candidate in the general election.

Because he's been enduring so many attacks from both Democrats and Republicans, and the purportedly liberal media. His endorsement would help quell those attacks - to say yes, he is a true Democrat and, yes, he is the next mayor of NYC.

Karin Smyth
Minister of State (Department of Health and Social Care)
The Government is continuing its work with the National Health
Service to reform gender services, to ensure young people receive timely, holistic care and support, while reviewing the use of cross-sex hormones in line with recommendation eight of the Cass Review.
The Cass Review said that NHS England should review its policy on cross-sex hormones. The review noted that the option to provide cross-sex hormones is available for patients aged 16 years old and over, but that
"extreme caution" was recommended along with a "strong clinical rationale for providing hormones before the age of 18". In line with Dr Cass's recommendations, every case for treatment is now discussed by a national multi-disciplinary team, and NHS England is reviewing its clinical commissioning policy on cross-sex hormones. A public consultation on the evidence is anticipated to take place this summer, and an updated policy is expected to be in place by April 2026.
With regard to private prescribing, a working group has been established by NHS England to provide advice to Government officials and the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer. The remit of the working group is to provide practical advice on the operational consequences of introducing any restrictions on private prescribing and advice on how to manage any risks to patients. The working group is made up of consultant endocrinologists, pharmacy and primary care leads, and national commissioners.
It is not the working group's role to decide whether restrictions on private prescribing should, or should not, be introduced. Neither is the group providing advice on the future use of cross-sex hormones by NHS clinicians. The Department will use the outputs of the working group to inform ongoing policy development.

The Cass Review has not been peer-reviewed.

But it has now been critiqued in depth and from every angle and fully discredited as pseudoscience by ELEVEN peer-reviewed publications.

So when the government uses the Cass Review to justify any policies it is not β€œfollowing the science”.

The Death of US AID The most consequential legacy of DOGE will be human misery on a massive scale

New, from me: Elon Musk talks about saving our species. But the greatest legacy of his time in government will be to condemn millions to death because he could not discern reality from a paranoid fantasy.
How Musk and Trump killed USAID.

The problem is actually simple (man pressing bad weather button) and the solution is simple (kill man with weather button)

A key feature of conspiracy theories is they appeal to people's vanity, because believers feel they have secret knowledge.
