News: Car Finance Redress Scheme
The FCA has put out an update. It says it will announce the scheme at roughly 5pm one day late March. Then there'll be a 3mth implementation period (5mths for older agreements). CONT

Chancellor just stood up for the #SpringStatement. As noted yesterday, they say this'll only be marco-economic so outside my bag. There are many great commentators out there who know far more on this than me. So unless there's direct Consumer Finance measures I won't be posting.
The other immediate domestic energy concern is the cost of domestic heating oil which has risen sharply.
In the short term its primary consumer energy bill impact will be to push up new fixed rate energy tariffs costs. How much it impacts the (July onward) Price Cap is a function of how long it spikes for. If it's short it will be minimal, if it's longer then its likely to drive prices up from July.
The spike in the gas price (a prime driver of UK electricity prices) is substantial in the context of the last six months, but as the second image shows it isn't a Ukraine war type spike. CONT
