Morgan Freeman saying “thagomizer” in a very serious Morgan Freeman tone genuinely made my night 🦕🦖

i hate this stupid fucking system more than anything in the world. a system that benefits nobody, actively harms everybody, could be changed at literally any point in time, YET WE STILL KEEP DOING THIS MADNESS ANYWAY. YEAR AFTER YEAR WE DO THIS STUPID SONG AND DANCE FOR NO GOD DAMN REASON

I don't pretend to know what it is like for trans people, and I'm not saying this is the same, but here is something I understand.

If I was told by society that I had to perform my gender like Kristi Noem, I feel an instant and immediate deep revulsion to the idea.

Disability accommodations are a rare thing that actually trickles down. You like curb cutouts? Auto-opening doors? Jar openers? Ramps? Hand rails? YOU’RE WELCOME

Even as an abled person you use disability accommodations every single day.

Supporting accommodations actually helps everyone.

*That* is why it's important to exclude non-photorealistic drawings, paintings, artwork, etc, from the fundamental definition of CSAM. It undoes a lot of that work to put the child victim and the impact on them front and center in how we talk about the issue.

Calling material that's produced through an act of sexual abuse against a child "CSAM" makes it very obvious that it *is*, inherently, sexual abuse and the child cannot consent to it. It puts the child victim and the impact on them at the center of the definition.

"Covid is NBD. It's just like a flu!" Okay and the flu has killed 250 people in one province. Now what?

Wait, wait! Let me guess! It doesn't matter to you because "they were probably old and unhealthy?"

Eugenics, eugenics, eugenics - as far as the eye can see.

Family believes Nova Scotia's new medical records system played part in baby's death | CBC News A Musquodoboit, N.S., family says it believes a tragedy could have been averted if not for the One Person One Record system that launched in December at the IWK Health Centre.

So awful.

If you've ever fallen through the cracks of the medical system, you know that "Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself" is a double bind.

Medical professionals & administrators are outright hostile & often retaliatory if you're persistent. But without persistence, you risk getting squat

Conspiratorial Claims and Institutional Distrust in Canada’s Online Ecosystem — Media Ecosystem Observatory This research brief examines the rise and spread of anti-institutional conspiracy claims in Canada’s information ecosystem and their impact on democratic trust, public health compliance and confidence...

This report is probably unsurprising to Canadians with media literacy and internet access:

- 100 online users account for 68% of conspiratorial posts, capturing 90% of views and 86% of likes

- Twitter is the worst offender; it accounts for 70% of likes on conspiracy content

The gender marker was introduced as a paranoid reaction to the idea that it was possible to be unsure of someone's gender, and it will always be a mechanism for reprimanding those whose appearance doesn't meet expectations in line with what it says on the ID.

If I pick 100 random men out of this crowd, revoke their driver's license 🤦🏿‍♂️, and tell them they now have to use the women's restroom...

How does that improve your life at all?

I just explained to you how it helps nazis.

What I'm asking, is how does it help you?

26.02.2026 14:12 👍 77 🔁 13 💬 0 📌 1

A lot of people know that nazis burned books in 1933, but they don't know which books were burned.

They burned down Hirschfeld's institute, and his books on gender studies.

Yes, modern nazis know all this too.

Yes, they have written down that this is part of their plan to acclimate us to violence

Ditto for Canadians! We’re usually about 5-6 years behind the US on political topics, so this should be a blazing warning for us.

26.02.2026 16:04 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Yup.

In the nazis' own writing, both the 1936 and the 2026 kinds, they admit that Hitler based his fascism and antisemitic Nuremberg laws, on Jim Crow laws. But how do you get a nation ready to ignore atrocities to 2% of the population?

Start with a 1% group

Have them declared "socially abnormal"

26.02.2026 13:03 👍 115 🔁 23 💬 1 📌 0

The timeline from gender-awakening-to-fascism is truly, shockingly, similar. I believe Weimar libertine parties peaked in the early 1920's ... barely 10 years later, and *that* happened.

When was the great trans awakening of our time? A little over 10 years ago. 😬

I doubt the legislators of Kansas went through Nazi history and copied this from them...

They just came to the same conclusion that exterminating a marginalized group is expedited by identifying them and marking their government identification for easy targeting.

We must stop them.

All the articles I’ve seen have focused solely on “he couldn’t help it, that’s how Tourette’s works and actually you’re ableist if ur mad” and not “the program was on a 2 hour delay and the BBC had no problem editing out several political statements that were made but left the racial slur in”

So when people refuse social programs that involve safe consumption sites, they not only risk the lives of those who have drug addictions, they make the whole system more dangerous for everyone, and eventually cost tax payer money in police calls anyways.

It goes beyond just shelters.

Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux joins Liberal caucus: Carney | CBC News Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux has joined the Liberal cacucus, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced on social media Wedneday.

I know liberals see this as "Yay! Building up that majority! Bleeding Poilievre dry!"

But for the rest of us, this is a huge red flag.

These people ran on a platform of hate, xenophobia and fear mongering. What does it say that they feel seen by the Liberals right now? Yikes.

Lots of us used a pronoun labeler on here that has gone away, but there's a new pronoun labeler people are using.

Labelers can be confusing if you haven't used them before (& even if you have). They can be used in different ways.

This thread shows you how to use the pronoun labeler. 🧵

We should be focused on the Tumbler Ridge victims, families and the community.

But some gross people are forcing another conversation: one of virulent transphobia.

The ramifications of that now have to be addressed.

@faejohnstone.bsky.social and @amaramarasingam.bsky.social helped me to do that.

Evolving the Microsoft Inclusive Design website - Microsoft Design What we learned rebuilding the Microsoft Inclusive Design website with the communities we serve

I wrote about the redesign of the Microsoft Inclusive Design site (published under our team byline). One thing I wrote on is the risk of designing for diagnoses instead of for people.

In rebuilding the site, we focused on flexibility and agency.

So anyone claiming to know why this happened right now is full of shit.

Stop listening to disgusting ghouls with hateful agendas.
