If you're doomscrolling, guess what? So far there are 51 kākāpō chicks hatched and thriving this season, the same number of birds as we had in TOTAL in the 90s! Only one chick has died and there are still fertile eggs waiting to hatch!

No more neon hardcover dust jackets. We have enough eye burning green covers with a piece of clip art on it.
Which is probably a snake some flowers and a woman’s lips.

Meta has a history of torturing their moderators and providing NOTHING in the way of mental health care. How do I know? Because I used to be a moderator for Meta and I got a $3,500 settlement for the PTSD they gave me.

When we tried to unionize, they moved their moderation to the Philippines.

This is the point. If your vaunted trillion-dollar military can't get through a few days of airstrikes because you've consolidated the industrial base so badly, then you don't have a trillion-dollar military, you just have contractors in No. Virginia getting rich

You can’t have a half hearted effort for an epilepsy safe video, there’s no way to guarantee it for some people with epilepsy.
Which means the warnings need to be slow, legible, clear and read aloud.

02.03.2026 09:16 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

It annoys me so much how little people understand about epilepsy.
I remember people commenting on a particular wwe wrestler’s entrance for being heavy on strobes being too much for epileptic watchers.

Mf every single graphic and pyro on raw/smackdown could cause a seizure in someone photosensitive.

02.03.2026 09:16 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

If the flashing images warning isn’t clearly stated aloud, on a still, clearly legible screen and given at least six seconds for someone to read it, it is fucking useless.

02.03.2026 09:16 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I think video editors need to be sat down and given a basic understanding of epilepsy.
Choppy editing and fast cuts can also trigger seizures.
I keep seeing epilepsy warnings that give you two seconds to read them. I saw one just now that had a flash on the screen BEFORE THE WARNING POPPED UP.

My photo shows the front of a warm-yellow coloured Minoan clay flask, hand painted in black with a frontally depicted octopus. The flask measures 27 cm (about 10.5 inches) in height. It has a short spout at the top with a small loop handle at either side. The octopus is swimming diagonally with its eight writhing, sucker-lined arms covering the whole surface of the flask. It stares out at the viewer with wide, almost cartoon-like eyes. Additional motifs include sea urchins, tritons, small rocks and seaweed. Minoan decoration depicting sea motifs is known by scholars as the β€˜Marine Style’. The flask was excavated in 1903 at a Bronze Age settlement site at Palaikastro. The Palaikastro excavations, carried out between 1902 and 1906, were run by R. Bosanquet and R.M. Dawkins from the British School of Athens. The flask is part of the collections at Heraklion Archaeological Museum, Heraklion, Crete.

Toad looked at his garden. Little green plants were coming up out of the ground.

Will Labour learn a lesson from this?

Will the fact a progressive party won by quite a massive amount be the talking point?

Will this move political discourse and government policy to the left?

Will they all shut up about immigration and accept it's a made up issue?

Probably not.

Think of it like hiccups.
But the hiccups have incredibly cruel timing. And the more you think about the hiccups the louder and more frequent they get.
And your throat hurts and you want to sleep and you keep apologising people but the hiccups go on.

That’s a tic. It’s a hiccup that hates you.

26.02.2026 01:33 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

If I could predict & prevent it, I would have avoided all of those incidents. No one wants to avoid tic’ ing more than someone who has hurt someone else or themselves during a tic.

I have loved ones who have coprolalia tics, and I have nothing but sympathy for the nightmare they have to go through.
