Why do people say Commander ruined Magic?

60 card formats are run by 5-6 meta decks per format. There's no room for creativity or customization. You either adopt the meta or you lose.

Lightning struck my new house on Friday. Everyone is ok but I keep finding more things damaged. Almost all of my electronics are dead. Arcade games hadn’t been plugged in yet so they’re fine. Water pipes busted. Gas leaks(shut off for now). Upward of $10,000 in damage. This year sucks.
