What I see nearly every day in doing basic research on misc. topics is that AI often makes things up to meet whatever criteria it was programmed to meet. It's akin to a compulsive liar who makes things up to look smart. I'm puzzled by this impulse to let it take over our lives.
My only thought in learning this is "Those poor people on that plane..." This cruelty must stop.
