And yes, that gave me sometimes a headache or a restless night. But the reward of having a stable environment is worth it!
Sometimes, however, you cannot find the answer straight away, and you need to increase the observability of your application(s)/infrastructure.
What actually happened? What was the root cause? π
π΅οΈI tempt to opt for the 'hard path' and conduct a thorough investigation, especially in unusual cases with significant impact. I tend to dig as long as I can to find the actual cause and by doing so I already found quite some nasty problems βΊοΈ

Upfront you have time to prepare, after the presentation you get some questions etc and other talks with the attendees, then it harder to find time for that.
And with uploading upfront, you can also share the link during the presentation.
Just prepared the last pieces for my presentation at @devoxx.com
I am ready for it, so let's go

Thanks for adding my talk to the list. There is also a recording made of the talk, but not available yet. Once that is available I will add it to the page as well, that will help to understand the slides and what the demo code is about.
Today I had great time at #JCON2025 presenting 'How I Solved Production Issues with OpenTelemetry (And How You Can Too)".
The @jcon.one conference is really cool to join and talk with fellow developers and share thoughts.

This is exactly how I see this as well. Observability is very much an 'every engineer's job'!

I totally agree with you. Observability [123].0 is totally useless if you don't learn and act on it. I am also missing talks about that as well.
I gave it it a try in a talk (goto.ceesbos.nl/fiwo) but closing the loop back to my code is for me the most important part of o11y. Learn and act!!

+1
I think that can help the most to make others more excited about observability and it help to show how to use the tools.
This is also exactly the reason why I prepared a presentation about how I solved problems with otel and Grafana for coming Tuesday at a meetup.
