I’m glad someone got their funding back, but this still doesn’t help my job, or my family, and we are hurting. HURTING. So don’t tell me how my job is less important than other people’s funding. I’m saying, NO ONE in ANY government wants to pay for art or music, and it is killing me and my family.

If I don’t print this anywhere, I’ll scream, and this is the most safe space. I am a music teacher in NS public school, the last time I received ANY funding from the government was 2016. I fund raise every cent. I get grants (gone). My kid’s summer job (gone), my kids internship(gone).

When they cut the bridge tolls, I said, how will they make us (outside HRM) pay for that? Answer:14 million in cuts to arts funding that allows artists, musicians, and writers to come to rural schools. Loss of our (not HRM) museums and theatres. Loss of summer jobs for our students.

If the provincial budget prompts an MLA to post not one, not two, but 3 Facebook apologies, maybe they should rethink some things.

Houston made sure to have the least qualified people as head of every department. If he was serious about good governance, there were many people elected who could have run this department competently.

I’m sorry, I’m salty, but I just want to point out that THIS GOVERNMENT spent 2.3 million dollars on the Perkins house, it’s been open for maybe 5 years, and NOW they are closing it again….WHY?
