I played in an orchestra as a high school student. A man from my church also played. Successful lawyer, wonderful violinist. Paralyzed from the waist down. Moved around with crutches. Polio.

Ironically, i remember when lobster was a βpoor personβs foodβ. Those who couldnβt afford steak ate lobsterβ¦
Iβm glad someone got their funding back, but this still doesnβt help my job, or my family, and we are hurting. HURTING. So donβt tell me how my job is less important than other peopleβs funding. Iβm saying, NO ONE in ANY government wants to pay for art or music, and it is killing me and my family.
If I donβt print this anywhere, Iβll scream, and this is the most safe space. I am a music teacher in NS public school, the last time I received ANY funding from the government was 2016. I fund raise every cent. I get grants (gone). My kidβs summer job (gone), my kids internship(gone).
Absolutely this.
Sooooo Stalin.
This is incredibly on point.
Spot oil prices grab the news, but itβs the impact weβre about to witness to petrochemical and derivative production that should really scare the shit out of folks.

It would have been funny, if I werenβt mad. βWe are supporting health (but not Autism, or mental health, or seniors health), students (but not their jobs, bus passes, or extra curricular) and the economy ( just not tourism). I made these decisions, and I stand by them (runs away).
So much for Houston saying I made the decisions and Iβll stand by them. Haha, before he ran away from protestors. And now lying press releases.
But my kid lost her job. Nice.

I just had a flashback to my friend who just one day started talking like Brian Mulroney. Literally, just decided, and his voice dropped 2 octaves.
Wait until the shortages hit.
I will say anecdotally that children have more accidents/ injuries after a time change.
You reap what you sow.
When they cut the bridge tolls, I said, how will they make us (outside HRM) pay for that? Answer:14 million in cuts to arts funding that allows artists, musicians, and writers to come to rural schools. Loss of our (not HRM) museums and theatres. Loss of summer jobs for our students.
If the provincial budget prompts an MLA to post not one, not two, but 3 Facebook apologies, maybe they should rethink some things.
Houston made sure to have the least qualified people as head of every department. If he was serious about good governance, there were many people elected who could have run this department competently.
It was a tiny KFC and there were a lot of them, and they werenβt shy.
Curly Neal showed Dad pictures of his kids. Which were weirdly the same age as us. Parallel families.
This has been the worst week in almost 10 years.
This is a Red Sovine song. He performed at the South Shore Exhibition one year. Half the songs were like this, and the other half were upbeat truck driver songsβ¦
Spread across all 800-thousand-plus personal income tax filers in Nova Scotia, the savings from these cuts amount to about $153 per year.
A little more than $12/month.
@machzy.bsky.social did thspreadsheet before I got around to it. Thanks!
I came to the comments to find this out. I think racist is the only thing we know it will be.
We are 2 years from retirement. I will not retire here.
I am a member of a bunch of cultural and arts groups, and the emails this morning are making me physically ill.
