So depressing that the em dash has become synonymous with AI. I used to love using those long boys :—(

3I/ATLAS, just the third interstellar object detected from earth. Captured from London , 12 hours after its 5 billion year journey towards us from some remote solar system. Now heading back into the void, and will likely never be seen again by any sentient creature
I am incredibly honoured to share that I have been awarded the @ukdri.ac.uk PhD Prize at #Connectome 2025! @ucl-hd.bsky.social @uclqsion.bsky.social @uclbrainscience.bsky.social

Stephan’s quintet - a group five galaxies ~280million light years away. Captured from Bethnal Green over six nights
The squid nebula - discovered in 2011 by an amateur astronomer. Captured over five nights from London and Italy
Ink poisoning turned out to be much less of an issue than it seemed when I was a kid
Whenever possible! Which in London is not very often sadly, but makes the opportunities more precious when it happens
This one was captured over 3 nights from London and Umbria, Italy
The wizard nebula, captured over several nights from London and an eleventh century Italian watchtower
A global clinical trial for a new Huntington’s disease treatment has posted positive results today, announced by trial sponsor uniQure and UCL scientists Prof Sarah Tabrizi and @profwild.bsky.social @uclqsion.bsky.social @uclbrainscience.bsky.social. Watch on BBC News at One 📺

Good morning everyone! I have a feeling today is going to be a good day 🌅
A highly preliminary Saturn from my new telescope
The Ghost of Cassiopeia captured over 6 nights from Bethnal Green. It’s interstellar matter interacting with the middle star from the constellation’s W #astrophotography #astronomy
Wow the future turned out amazing. You get to go on the computer every day
I fondly remember my previous incarnation as a kingfisher. Halcyon days
My opinion on all competitive sports
Galaxy C30 in September 2024 (top) and last night (bottom). A star exploded 40m years ago and its light reached earth 2 weeks ago as supernova SN2025rbs. Taken by me from Bethnal Green #astrophotography #astronomy
It is to be hoped (but, based on past experiences, not expected) that this decision will be a cause for reflection on the best way for the HD community to muster & focus its resources. Plenty of drugs designed for HD & targeting central disease mechanisms need testing now and soon. Time to move on!
This will be disappointing to many, but it’s the right decision. Regulators consider data. After 6 negative trials it’s time to admit the data don’t support pridopidine as a symptomatic (2006-2015) or disease-modifying (2015-2025) treatment for #HuntingtonsDisease
