Abolish ICE has a +11 approval — which means it is *32 points* more popular than Donald Trump

Ask yourself: does corporate media portray that accurately?

If you think ICE officers are bad, wait until they’re all Figure robots with guns. Because it’s obvious Adcock is more Sam than Dario.

Also fun that we give tons of money to sociopaths to build these new products. They’re great at fundraising.

Attacking Iran puts Taiwan at risk, and our economy with it.

It'll be interesting to see what China does when they have high performing chips and the US arms supply is depleted.

San Francisco has long been the front line of the class war. This DoW/Anthropic/OpenAI business furthers the point.

I've been saying since 2017 that I wouldn't want to start a company in the US given the regulatory risk.

Since this will likely come up in the SOTU: Yes, US stock markets are up since Trump took office (14%).
But in the rest of the world, markets are up WAY more. Cumulative market gains are more than triple ours (43%)

Good piece from @karlbode.com, whose reporting on tech I’ve been enjoying for years (initially via @techdirt.com ) and now has a new newsletter you should jump on.

Here's what Republicans think is "unrealistic"

1) Need a judicial warrant to enter private property
2) Require verification that someone is not a US citizen before sending them to immigration detention
3) No masks
4) No secret police: Officers must have ID
5) Keep enforcement away from

One by one, Europeans mentioned in the Epstein files who still hold political office are beginning to resign or are being forced out of office.

Meanwhile, ruled by an administration almost entirely made up of Epstein associates, the US carries on as if nothing really happened.

I agree with this, but I don't like right now how the default is giving these systems access to everything (like your whole email, your whole calendar). I don't trust the big companies, or the governments, to not abuse that access.

Do you interleave the two on the same task? Do they play nice when working on code written by the other?

You can totally point out that some aspects of AI are overhyped, you can believe that AGI is not possible, you can criticize how the companies and governments developing AI are using or being coopted by these tools. There is a lot to criticize.

But "it doesn't work and is fake" is just wrong now.

02.02.2026 03:38 👍 129 🔁 17 💬 20 📌 14

Just bizarre to me that there is such a large market for "AI will go away on its own" at this stage. And that so few people who serve that market seem to have updated their beliefs at all in the past year, even as key tasks like coding have already started to change beyond recognition.

Remember, the full Epstein Files are well over 6 million pages long.

What you have seen so far is the *least offensive* 3 million pages.

Trump and his lawyers are hiding the other 3 million pages—and have made clear that they will never ever release them, federal law be damned.

i think this is exactly right. fascism is the Death Drive as ideology. it's why the catastrophic end of the Nazi Party does not deter people from worshipping Nazis. that the Nazis destroyed Germany along with the rest of Europe is part of the appeal.

I feel like part of my shtick on BlueSky is to point out that yes, AI is real and it is especially important for critics to realize it is real, since we need more good criticism of AI, rather than dismissals that it is hype

Well: the impact of Claude Code/CLIs & successors is going to be very large
