China might not appreciate the disruption to its oil supply though, right? First Venezuela, now Iran?

It's hard to remember, lol! If I recall correctly, one of his main messages was, if you want to be a writer, write. A lot. Which was sorta helpful to hear I guess.
I did read King's memoir on writing, but a long time ago.
Watched the first two episodes of Pluribus last night and can't stop thinking about it. What a premise! What would I do in her shoes? So many possibilities. youtu.be/a6lzvWby9UE?...

Thank you, BBNYA!
Pretty brilliant article. I found the line, "think of most people as lacking world-models, but being moored to reality by some vague sense of social consensus" to be especially illuminating.

Just watched, thanks for the recommend! Cool movie. I think the Hitler soliloquy is supposed to clue us into what White Tiger is: a supernatural embodiment of his brand of vicious, relentless, evil human nature. Or something like that.
Great essay. I'm not much for poetry, but I read a poem once in college that hit me kinda like that (can't remember the poet, dangit!). It was more like a beautiful painting than words or a story.
Have they figured out yet how they're going to fix the Spirit Lake outflow problem?
Now we wait for Tesla's miserable second quarter numbers and underwhelming robotaxi rollout.
Just finished! Forgot how dense older King books could be. Fun read though. Also interesting seeing King and Straub go back and forth. #booksky
The tagline reads, "A Techno-thriller." The cover has a background in shades of blue and black stripes like a data stream. There is a white figure running.
A big #BBNYA2025 welcome to The Yamanaka Factors by @jedhenson.com

Sad update: They were dead. π
Huh, my first Negroni, not the taste I was expecting. Hope it grows on me. Since I bought a bunch...
Holy cow, that's great, followed!

Finally got the big root out from under the sidewalk. Totally safe...
Ha, saw this on Reddit, accurate!
Just finished, good book. Especially if you're into writing, screenwriting, etc. I'd wondered what happened to Ed Burns. #booksky
As a modern-day Thomas Edison, Musk revolutionized both electric cars and rocketry. Humanity could use his help navigating this particularly fraught time. Alas, his wings are melting.
Musk has now alienated his former fans on the left. His new "friends" in MAGA and the drill-baby-drill crowd will tolerate him right up until President Trump tosses him overboard. Which may prompt the real tragedy: the implosions of Tesla and maybe even SpaceX.
I think Elon Musk has finally flown too close to the sun. Like Icarus of Greek mythology, he could well follow the classic hubris, atΓ«, nemesis arc common to many ancient Greek tragedies: arrogance breeds bad decisions, bad decisions beget failure, and failure invites vengeance.
She was perfect for Best in Show. Not a problem in Dazed and Confused.
