Writing interactive fiction is great because you can simultaneously have writer's block and be stuck on a difficult logic problem
"Choose your own ship name" Amazing, more games should have this.

After days of being blocked I'm making progress again, and have finally reached The End!
(Technically a spoiler I guess, but how else was this game going to end?)
In my defense I grew up in the UK where it's called "British summer time".
TIL I've been using "daylight saving time" wrong for years. I thought it was the time we set clocks to in the winter, when there was less daylight and thus more reason to save it.

We teased last week about how brilliant the Michael Woods' colours on Dan Dare: First Contact were. Now feast your eyes on this sneak peek.

Loving these spaceships - I like how you seem to be drawing on modern fighter jets in the same way that the original drew on then-modern WW2 bombers.
Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads: The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same... - Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.

As of tonight, licenses of trans people across Kansas are being invalidated en masse, enabling the overnight criminalization of an entire group of people for going about our lives. Itβs often said you never know when youβre living through history, so let me assure you: thatβs whatβs happening now.
IIRC there were on-screen dates in a few places but I now can't remember what those were.
Also it's an adaptation of the book but it's not *just* an adaptation of the book, it's also in dialogue with previous Frankenstein movies and the pop-culture idea of Frankenstein, which is why it had to have a tower and a lightning strike.
Also I'm pretty sure it's historically inaccurate in lots of ways I'm not historically savvy enough to pick up on, but I am certain that historical accuracy is not what it's going for.
Finally watched Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein. It's a beautiful movie - lavish, stylized, melodramatic and unsubtle.
I think it's deliberately over-the-top and *earnest* in a way that would be easy to snark at, but doing so would suck the joy out of watching it and miss the point.
Yeah I will take Therapy Batman over Therapy Putin
This looks like it's going to be amazing, and I say that both as a general enjoyer of sci-fi comics and as a fan of the original Dan Dare.
Your Ming is great and I'm kind of in awe of the restraint it must have taken to keep him off-screen for as long as you did.

(VOY s3e24) there's basically four types of civilization in the galaxy: shoulderpad empires, tunic cultures, robe civilizations, and stupid hat societies. When you're a stupid hat society you basically have no choice but to run dumb scams where you try to steal spaceships.
