Praying for Michiganβs Jewish community and grateful for the quick work of first responders and law enforcement during todayβs attack. While we wait for more information, one thing is clear: antisemitism anywhere must be confronted and stopped.
And we wonβt be raising taxes because these never ending expansions to the road network will be maintained and plowed by a magical wizard.
I honestly thought I was hallucinating when I heard the Housing Minister say in QP "Well, it's no surprise Canadians are challenged with buying homes right now when there is a war in the Middle East."
I was not. This was a thing that was said.
On rare occasions I think of taking OCTranspo somewhere.
The first thing I looked up isn't the route options or the travel times. First I check to see if the train is running. That's messed up π
Large poster in the Brompton facility with an image of a Brompton bike and the tagline βrefuel citiesβ, designed like a sign at a gas station with the prices of unleaded, super, and diesel fuel all really high, and the cost of cycling and coffee both marked as free.

Perhaps LRT announcements should be given as terms of council rather than years.
It still seems possible to open LRT West before the end of the 2026-2030 term.
No bets on opening LRT East before Oct 26 2026. Time moves faster than the train. #OttPoli
Alto is extending the public consultation period for High Speed Rail until Monday, April 24. Two additional virtual sessions will be held on March 23 & 26.

Political will to act is the Achilles Heel of Mayor Sutcliffe's reelection campaign.
I simply believe that houses of worship should not ever require security guards. if they do- any religion, anywhere- then that society has failed
Thank you to Councillor Johnson for her comments on CTV this morning. Our Official Plan sets out a vision for a better city, and we'll achieve it if we have the political will.

If limited staff, experts or equipment meant those tasks had to be done in sequence, he ought to have known by 9 am this morning that the actual schedule was behind the planned schedule.
I'm annoyed deicing wasn't either continuous or started at 5 am this morning. It is ridiculous to start deicing on the closed segment only after rewiring. It makes a mockery of Charter's announced plan to have Line 1 fully open for pm peak. Ask why deicing time wasn't done in parallel with repair.
I wonder what OCTranspo comments came up.
They did not run empty trains from Yard to Hurdman to Blair yesterday and overnight to keep it ready? (Do any of our rail drivable trucks have the ability to do OCS deicing?)
Bill 60 prohibits the City from implementing the bike lanes, per the Walkley Road off-ramp project, that is, current travel lanes can not be used for this purpose.
The City will redesign the road and future bike lanes, possibly on the City's ROW lands, is a future option.
Potted trees are lined up in a parking lot as people wearing safety vests work together to handle and prepare one of the trees.

I did not say it was a problem.
It is just part of the way landscapes change. Just as farm fields of my youth now have no visible fencing these days.
I sometimes think the LRT has a major issue within 3 days of the announcement of every settlement. It has to be my memory bias. And yet...
Garlic bread grilled cheese sandwiches make me very happy.
Concorde's first commercial flight was in 1976 and it was retired in 2003, or 27 years.
Flight of the Conchords have been going since 1998 and are now in their 28th year.
Flight of the Conchords has now lasted longer than the flights of the Concorde.
Yesterday:
Council approved yet another LRT Stage 1 settlement,
Council approved more money for Byward but postponed the key walkability measure for 3 years,
PWHL announced their discussion on moving out of Lansdowne because Council approved a smaller arena, and
LRT broke in another light ice storm.
I was interested to learn Finnish students discuss disinformation when studying a second language. I think I would have enjoyed reading the news in French more when I was in HS if we had been reading the news critically.
It always surprises me when I visit Waterloo (where I grew up), how much the visual clutter of the LRT power bugs me. Parts of Stage 2 East give me the same feeling but not the Transitway converted parts.
We design buildings and places for resilience. Do we get earthquakes everyday? No, or at least not ones we notice. But we do get them regularly. Do we get major windstorms? Massive rainfall? Sure, and we plan for it. Whatβs our plan for freezing rain? 3/
I don't think anyone in North America is ready for the problems of all the 1960s and 1970s era suburbs hitting old age. Cheap timber frame houses are not built for a forever life.
It must have been strong cardboard to survive toddlers demanding to be in the en suite with their favourite adult of the moment.
You don't say but it seems reasonable to assume R1 throughout am peak.
People likely need to look for cancelled trips so there are buses available for R1. Are the cancellations across the network or mostly on buses with trips ending at Blair?
