Just seen the wider context for the apology, and apparently an announcement was also left off the Tv broadcast prepping the audience, so it looked like an apology out of nowhere. Some hasty editing choices, by the sound of it.

I’ve just read that as well, wasn’t in the broadcast and neither was the earlier moment where they apparently prepped the audience to be understanding and ready. Just feels mishandled and very unfortunate.
