yup, inevitable
Evergreen advice: if you're going to reference Orwell or 1984, read something by Orwell like 1984 first.
Also: just read 1984. It's quite good and not what you expect considering how people use its quotes and imagery.
I have about four photos of me before 2008 then several taken on a Nintendo DSi. My photography didn't pick up any traction until about 2010. Even then it was limited until about 2015.
I remember being ahead of the curve in my social circles. People would ask "why are you taking a photo?"
Apple's week of reveals is over, but the base iPad is missing. That Neo is neat though.

Rumors were almost certain about the base iPad being updated this week, yet it wasn't. I think this serves as a helpful reminder that rumor mongers aren't always accurate.

Pokopia has fully replaced Animal Crossing in my brain. There can only be one.
Eh, happens a lot. Especially Amazon. I can get a pair delivered tomorrow from the Apple Store.
I think it's stuff like this that made Anthropic want to pull out. They had their disagreement and the administration declared it a risk before the war was started. The fact that Claude is involved in this operation is a sign of how difficult it will be to remove Claude from these systems.
People are losing their mind over the MacBook Neo having an iPhone chip and, dear reader, there's no such thing as an iPhone or a Mac chip these days.
It's all just Apple silicon.
It's even more simple than that. It's 8GB because that's how much RAM was used in the iPhone that used that chip. It's what's needed for Apple Intelligence.
If Apple needed more RAM, it would have needed a different chip. MacBook Neo doesn't need more RAM.
Pokopia time
Windows 13 rumored to be "collecting hearts released from heartless" in an attempt to open Kingdom Hearts, sources say
This is just so much fun. I'm having fun here. (obvious sarcasm)

You're making this too easy. Apple Vision Pro obviously.
One was an electronics tech that repaired TVs and radios in his repair shop. The other was a professional raging alcoholic.
I feel like this image was inevitable so I went ahead and made it. 🤣 yes, it's used here and in my blog post for the day. Shhhh

Weird name. But colors!
Saddened to announce I was affected by the recent Polygon layoffs. Though my time there was short, it was an incredible experience with a truly lovely bunch of people.
If you’re looking for a games/entertainment nerd for writing, presenting, PR, or any other opps, hit me up!
I was wrong about this one. Oh well. Odd name but the nerds seem to like it.
Obviously I could use this or other tools and ignore what I don't need. I just wish I could find something a little more specific to my needs.
This is nice. I think I'll activate the free trial and see how it works. Though I'd love a dark mode icon. (I'm aware the app just launched, now worries)
The thing I run into a lot with tools like these is I'm just not working the way other people do. My needs are far less than some, where I'd probably be better off with a spreadsheet.
I have one company I work for with only a few projects to track and one invoice to generate twice a month.
I'll try to find a moment to try it out and I'll let you know how it goes.
Ya'll can't call an outbreak of a sophisticated hacking toolkit "Coruna" and not have me say this.
I've used Toggl and Timery for years to track my time and use Numbers to generate my invoice. I wonder if this all-in-one system would be better.
Happy that I'm in a place in my setup where I don't feel the need to buy every new thing. The Studio Display I have now is fine and will likely be fine until the OLED model arrives in four years.
Also $3,300 at those specs is a bit horrendous.
5 products in 3 days huh? So far I count 6 unless you want to treat Studio Display as one product.
Even so, there are two products rumored for this week at a minimum that still haven't arrived. So 7 or 8 total?
The rumors are getting notably worse. What else are they wrong about?
iPhone Fold? AI?
Happy to make my @mmorpg.com debut with this piece looking at the PS5 release of Avowed—a game I've been enviously watching from afar because I didn't have a console that could play it.
I had some thoughts on the predictably cynical reporting around Apple Intelligence and what this work with Google actually entails.
