I don’t disagree that tech companies should do more, but I also don’t see a way in which Apple can appease these folks without taking the “we can see everyone’s everything” approach
That’s a hot take IMO. There are plenty of people who store files and content they’d like kept private that is far from illegal, immoral, wrong, etc.
I recognize Apple is big tech, but I give them the slightest shred of credibility in being one of the last companies showing any respect at all to their users’ privacy and the reality is the only way Apple satisfies these people is by further surveilling their user base. It’s just fucked. 2/2
