Not saying the 93 movie is a masterpiece, but it's way more interesting as a piece of art. I don't need to watch the new one again, having seen it once; I'd watch the 1993 movie multiple more times without question

Just played Enter the Gungeon. Not recommended.

The roguelike format yet remains undefeated in tedium. Although clearly a work of passion, never before has playing a game felt like such a complete waste of my time (although some have come close).

what does that have to do with it being bad to bomb children and commit genocide

Just finished Rebel Galaxy. Recommended.

Interesting artistic choices lend a great vibe, but gameplay is remarkably thin. Luckily, the number of main story missions is small, just wrapping up as the action begins to bore—at least when powering straight through.

Where are all the reply guys who used to claim that you didn't understand ARR or were misstating how it worked lol

Oh look it's the exact same post we've seen dozens of times over the last five years. It's already been 22 days since the last one, we were definitely due. Thank you for your incredibly original, very worthwhile, and extremely intellectual analysis. Maybe we'll make it FOUR weeks until the next one!

Just played Bear and Breakfast. Not recommended.

Adorable and creative, but choked by incessant, pointless busywork. Less of a game about building and managing an inn than walking around in circles picking up trash.

That's just legislation that was enacted. Sanders has introduced 518 bills total.

Just played #Tyranny . Recommended.

Appears competently built, and probably an easy recommendation for CRPG fans, but I personally found the combat completely uninteresting and the story, while intriguing, not grabbing enough to be worth finishing.

Every single time someone from outside the US claims that we don't have x food, it turns out they went into like a 711 or something lmao

Just played Murder by Numbers. Not recommended.

Unbelievably long. What is at first cute and engaging becomes an unbearable drudge as dozens of essentially the same puzzle are thrown at the player again and again and again and again.

Holy shit. I had to look up the movie Ghost World and ScarJo is unquestionably a child here. Floored by how obviously pedophilic it would be to be attracted to the girl in that movie when that is being used as the example.

Just finished God of War (2018). Recommended!

An artistic triumph by every metric, in every aspect. Beautifully rehabilitative.

A guy who runs an AI startup talking about how amazing AI is? "Trust me bro, six months ago it sucked but NOW it's amazing. Yes I also said that six months ago but this time it's true" same thing we've been hearing for years

I was literally writing out this response and then saw this. Yep. You can have a camera doorbell without it being able to be used as a surveillance tool; you can have speed limiters without them introducing the possibility of remote control.

Just finished #Venetica . Recommended!

A charmingly low-budget early-seventh-gen RPG that starts strong but drags towards the end, mostly due to a tide of back-and-forth quests and a frequent failure to communicate player goals.

Just finished Far Cry 5. Recommended!

Far Cry 5 offers refreshingly simple gameplay and visual magnificence, but its initially exciting setting is made anemic through a pathetic lack of political or thematic follow-through.

Just finished Alan Wake II. Recommended!

A groundbreaking, immaculately-presented, campy, and frequently frustrating mindtrip of a game. Thematically stuffed, but narratively gripping.

The entire game trains the player not to shoot enemies surrounded by darkness and then the game gives you a boss fight you can only beat by shooting the guy surrounded by darkness. brilliant work guys

Remedy should probably just like stop putting boss fights in their games. Every single one is terrible despite fantastic combat mechanics
