Some places do this, especially within HE.

Great to see collaboration across global majority authors and academics too. I wonder how much collaboration exists the other way, with English speaking academics contributing to journals of global south languages. I see very little evidence of support towards non English journals 🤔

The only reason for this is to destroy the only country in the region who hasn't sold out to the US. It's so obvious its boring.

A recent @eisunion.bsky.social report found an increase in the verbal and physical assaults on teachers in schools.

It's unacceptable and another layer of the challenges teachers are facing and impacting on learner behaviours too.

Thirty years ago, 16 children and their teacher were killed at Dunblane Primary School and 15 more children were injured.

Scotland will never forget the suffering and the unimaginable loss the families have endured. We will always hold them all in our hearts.

Matt Wrack, General Secretary:

We have not been made aware of the plans to introduce a new app to streamline administrative tasks and free up teachers’ time. While not opposed to the idea of an app in principle, we would expect to have been given some details about these plans and how it is envisaged the app will be used in practice by teachers.

As such it is difficult to evaluate at this stage how useful any app will be in helping to drive down teachers’ workload. Technology is no substitute for adequate staffing on the ground in schools to ensure that the needs of all pupils, including those with ASN, can be met.

Mike Corbett, NASUWT Scotland:

We would welcome the recommendations to introduce nation-wide systems for planning, professional learning and the delivery of ASL. At present we have local authorities operating to different systems and standards when every child with ASN across Scotland deserves to receive the same standard of support and care.

The current system of ASN provision is failing pupils, families and teachers and it is clear that a fundamental rethink is needed. This review must be the starting point for rapid improvements in the way in which ASL is resourced and provided in schools.

I want to avoid disruption to pupils' education that comes with industrial action.

The Scottish Government has put forward a fully funded proposal for COSLA to avoid these strikes.

I encourage other parties to join the team effort to get the deal over the line tomorrow.

U.S. Air Force B-1 And B-52 Bombers Now Striking Iran From The UK The U.S. Air Force now operates three distinct bomber aircraft, all of which can trace their development back to the Cold War.

US bombers loading up on UK airstrips before raining down bombs on Iran.

Parliament wasn't consulted - and polling shows huge numbers oppose it.

When do MPs get a say over our involvement in this war?

Keir Starmer fails to call out deadly US strike on Iranian school as war crime KEIR Starmer has failed to call the US bombing of a girls’ school in Iran a war crime as he was told he had taken the UK into the war…

A 🇺🇸 Pentagon investigation has now concluded that it was indeed Trump's dumb bombs that killed all those little girls in Iran. Shame on Trump for trying to blame Iran for it. They lie and they lie and they lie.

Starmer is a disgrace every time.

José Antonio Kast, the son of a Nazi lieutenant who fled Germany after WW2, was sworn in today as the 38th president of Chile. For years, Kast ran for president on great replacement theory. At his rallies, some of his supporters wore red hats and demanded that Kast “Make Chile Great Again.”
