Because the only ones stuck 'online' are us, the people who can't go outside without facing MAJOR risks. Perhaps let's make 2026 the year society at large grows an empathy organ and stops pushing individualism as the solution to the enshittification of everything.

With much of the internet becoming effectively un-usable, may this be the year in which we log off, spend time outdoors, collect physical media, begin reading again. Too much time online is personally and collectively corrosive. There is no life in the digital void.

I love this sentiment, but at the same time y'all do this without making space for disabled people to exist in the 'outside world' peacefully. Y'all don't mask. No health precautions at all. It's all 'enjoy the life off the internet' but not if it's mildly inconvenient.
