I sort of collect deranged things I’ve heard leftists say about liberals, in my head.
I’m not talking about things that are just uncharitable. I mean straightforwardly up-is-down false.
In the past 5-10 years I’ve had to amend that: leftists don’t know anything about liberals either.
Both leftists and conservatives have a “guy I made up to be mad at” view of liberals.

I used to say that a major difference between liberals and conservatives is, liberals understand pretty clearly what conservatives believe and want, but conservatives have deranged ideas about what liberals want that would be dispelled by any brief conversation with a reasonably articulate liberal.
