I don't expect basic intelligence from bluesky anymore but it's still deeply stupid that Democrats *rightly* saw a layup opportunity to put up a "keep gas cheap" bill that they know the GOP won't touch, they took it, and we're calling them braindead collaborators for it.
"In response to Trump's pointless war of choice, we're trying desperately to save *your* wallet from being caught in the crossfire by proposing a suspension of the gas tax" is something that literally everyone knows makes Dems look good and the GOP look atrocious. Everyone but us "Ball Knowers".
One thing is absolutely clear right now, in the early in-person vote so far, Republicans are ahead. A lot of Western, Republican-dominated localities have more votes so far than they did on the same day equivalent in 2025. There aren't any Spanberger-won localities running ahead

Something I want to put on everyoneβs radar, ESPECIALLY if you live in Virginia.
Data suggests that *Republicans* are out early-voting Democrats in the Virginia redistricting referendum.
When it comes to Virginia, Chaz knows his stuff.
DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS ELECTION, VIRGINIA DEMS!!!
ok yeah that would make me crazy
Thinking about the six lawmakers who told the military they donβt have to obey unlawful orders.
I was going to say, not really, I like getting texts! But then I read more and, you get a LOT more texts than I do. Only about 6 people even have my number.
Just blocked a fedposter. Donβt trust ANYONE advocating violence, for all the reasons.
βUtterly unqualifiedβ would be too generous
Dishwasher, washing machine, roomba, automated cat feeder so they don't wake me up in the morning. I'm a big fan of automation.
I suspect gender plays a part here. There's nothing America hates like an older woman thinking she matters.
In addition to [waves hand around], he's just so fuckin weird
TIL Trump didn't bother to refill the strategic petroleum reserve last year when oil was dirt cheap. what can you even say www.ft.com/content/d546...
Mamdani was like 9 years old in 2001. I don't think he was any part of it.
Like it's something that just randomly happened to them
This is to say: if you're an attorney who's hesitated to take on habeas cases because you think you lack the knowledge, or you're worried about whether you'll really help, I PROMISE you can make a difference. I'm just a dipshit with a 7-year-old laptop and a bad attitude. If I can do it, so can you.
This puts me at 10 people released. I filed my 1st habeas petition 29 days ago. I am an incredibly small-time, nobody lawyer who knew nothing about immigration law the day I submitted that case. I barely know any more today. I had never sued the federal government and now I've beaten them 10 times.
Katie Johnson filed her lawsuit in 2016, before Julie K. Brown and the Miami Herald made Epstein a household name by exposing his outrageous plea deal. And she hit on a lot of core details about Epstein's operation--massages, the town house, etc.
If two parties were identical in every respect except one was going to send a tomahawk missile into a school full of little girls and the other wasnβt, thatβs actually still a substantive difference and you should vote for the better one
has anyone asked how much republicans are spending to hold an annual retreat at a trump property or has the press just given up on caring about these kinds of unprecedented conflicts of interest?
Iβm sure it all hits different for people who have been historically oppressed, but this made me remember: there is so much good fiction I just canβt watch or read, because reality is too grim. The Man in the High Castle comes to mind.
lol wut
Cutting taxes is the wrong approach. It won't help anyone too poor to pay taxes, provides no new security, and would only add to Republicans' ability to demonize everyone who isn't a taxpayer. It would weaken every program. Instead, we should do universal basic income and higher taxes on the rich.
Funny how the guy who was supposedly so addled with dementia he didnβt know what he was signing keeps making perfectly cogent, impressive public appearances, more than a year after he left office. Almost like it was all bullshit and dummies fell for it.π€·ββοΈ

Even if impeachment were possible, it would be grossly insufficient since the premise is just βthereβs one guy whoβs bad but his hand chosen successor must be totally cool.β
None of this stopsβit can't even stop getting worseβuntil Trump and his whole crew of constitutional wreckers are removed from power.
In case you want to...remotely heat something? Something - I guess - that you put in there ahead of time. So you can reheat it...when you aren't home?
OK i guess I got nothing.
Out of that painful disappointment a group of Maine Women including the legendary Lois Galgay Reckitt, and Janet Mills decided Maine Women would never be without a voice again, and reached out to woman across the state asking for just $2 each to hire a lobbyist for women, the Maine Women's Lobby
