Dear Your Party CEC members, First of all, congratulations on your election. We look forward to working with you all and building a party fit to represent the working class in Scotland and across Britain. As the Interim Scottish Executive Committee of Your Party - as ratified by members at Your Party Scotland’s founding conference - as well as Scotland’s CEC seat holder, we are getting in touch to ask for urgent action to be taken to ensure democratic decisions taken by Scottish members in Dundee are carried through. In particular, these relate to preparations for the 2026 Scottish Parliamentary elections on May 7, where the April 1st deadline for candidate nominations is fast approaching, in addition to elections to Your Party’s Scottish Executive Committee (SEC).
As the interim SEC, we have been in contact with Your Party HQ requesting that emails be sent to members inviting them to submit nominations for the SEC, as well as to attend regional meetings to set campaigning strategy and open candidate selection for May’s Holyrood elections. We are very disappointed that we have not heard back from Your Party’s central team, and would ask for an urgent intervention from the newly-elected CEC members to ensure these emails - which were fully drafted and shared with the central team earlier this month - are sent without further delay. We attach below a planned schedule for both Scottish Parliament selections, as well as the imminent SEC election, and can provide an updated draft email sent to HQ earlier this month to allow for the updated schedule outlined. Finally, we again ask that some members of Scotland’s interim SEC be given privileges to contact Your Party members in lieu of a permanent SEC being in place.
We noted with interest during the CEC elections announcement that it was confirmed members of the sortitioned Members’ Oversight Committee were allowed limited access to members’ data, and we would ask that this approach be emulated for the democratically-endorsed interim SEC in Scotland. We look forward to your response as soon as possible, and note that this letter is being shared openly to inform members in Scotland of the challenges being faced ahead of the 2026 elections and the upcoming SEC elections. Yours in solidarity, Your Party Scotland interim SEC Niall Christie, Your Party CEC member, Scotland
We are now asking Your Party HQ, as well as the CEC members elected this week to take urgent action to ensure members in Scotland can fully engage with both of these processes without further delay. We stand ready to provide all the support necessary from Scotland. (3/4)

This is particularly worrying given the short window to engage with members ahead of the Scottish Parliament elections, with a deadline of April 1 for candidate nominations.
Furthermore, attempts to begin the process of electing a SEC have also not been progressed, despite repeated requests. (2/4)

OPEN LETTER Your Party Scotland Interim Scottish Executive Committee raises concerns to Your Party collective leadership.
Now three weeks on from Your Party Scotland founding conference in Dundee, the interim Scottish Executive Committee (SEC) is increasingly concerned about the lack of communication with Your Party, and the lack of communications to members in Scotland. (1/4)

Tweet from Ryan, @TheOneCalledMe, reads
"Ross Greer received 298 votes in the @scottishgreens leadership election last year.
Today, @NiallChristie1
has smashed that, gaining almost double that in the @thisisyourparty
CEC Elections, Scotland representitive.
Proud to call Niall a comrade & friend."
Attached are two screenshots, not included here because they just demonstrate the numbers listed above.
Good lord, tremendous work from @niallchristie1.bsky.social and great engagement from @yourparty.scot in general ✊

Your Party councillors to propose 'no cuts' budget for Glasgow
YOUR Party councillors in Glasgow are set to propose a “no cuts” budget for the local authority.
Thanks to @scotnational.bsky.social for this on the People's Budget put forward by @thisisyourparty.bsky.social councillors. Councillors of all parties can choose to further decimate the communities they represent, or invest in real change. The choice is theirs.

Great to attend the Your Party Scotland founding conference.
A vibrant participative event with socialists getting organised to put up a fight against austerity, war and racism.
We live in a sick system run by depraved individuals like Epstein, Trump and Mandelson. It must go.

All Scottish members will be able to take part. We will be holding workshops and discussions on the Scottish party’s founding documents, policy, its community organising plans, as well as debates and votes on our stances towards key national issues, and the upcoming May 2026 Holyrood elections.

This is delayed from our initial planned dates of 10-11th January. This has come about after taking feedback from members, where we’ve seen your concerns at meeting the costs to come to the conference so close after the festive season.

The Scottish Green Party propped up SNP austerity. Austerity is not socialist. Your Party Scotland will never support any austerity government.

Scottish participants at the Your Party Founding Conference were extremely disappointed with many of the decisions taken on the podium in terms of the running of this Conference, including this one, which we completely disavow. The members our comrade was referring to are indeed transphobic.

Hi Dermot. We have activated a setting that prevents this error from recurring going forward and, at the suggestion of an affected user, have added alt text in replies for the image posts posted without it.

Hi Raven - that's exactly what we will be doing going forward. There is no way to add this after the fact, so this solution was proposed by an affected user when we were made aware of the problem.

Until Your Party Scotland has formally constituted itself and made democratic decisions, we are not in a position to comment on much of anything unfortunately. In the meantime I'm sure individual YP activists will be happy to share their individual views with you.
