I’ve discovered I also really like his portraits of his wife/muse, Júlia Peraire i Ricarte. Unfortunately, their age difference was horrifying, so I have complicated feelings about all of this.

I was in Home Goods and spotted a poster, apparently designed by The Art Concept; leaving aside the caption and bubble gum, I found the image visually arresting and hunted it down. Turns out it’s “Young Decadence,” a Modernist work by Ramon Casas i Carbó!

How is it that, even in middle age, I still feel like I don’t know how to woman?

“Shadow nation” is such a great way of putting this! When I started bumping into folks in alternative lifestyles, it made everything else in my life temporarily a bit more surreal.
