here's a photo of it at its worst, it seems like shades of gray cause it to show up more. i tried taking it apart to reseat the connectors and use the built in test mode but it didn't help, and i doubt there's a way to repair the panel

got an lg ultrafine 5k from free geek for $20 but unfortunately it has faint flickering horizontal lines on the bottom half of the screen :(
