Just finished up a blog post about how I prepared for, and continue prepping for my Shadowdark/ Caverns of Thracia campaign. If you're like me and prefer improvisation and light work to Blorb and legwork, give it a read. Hell, give it a read anyway!

Hope it lives up to the excitement!
Yeah I linked to a (now archived) interview with him where he confirmed that that was the case!
I like for wizards to reference rule terms like HP to make them seem even weirder and more esoteric to non-wizards
Unironically this has got me thinking more about set-up and gag style dungeon rooms. Like writing rooms in pairs but in a story beat kinda way
I rate every room in White Plume Mountain (X out of 5 Stars) and explain why each room does, or does not, work and how you can take these lessons into designing your own dungeons, be they of the funhouse variety or not

It's a fun review/roast of a dungeon that both great and terrible and definitely deserves to be roasted, both for being incredibly famous and extremely cheesy
For whom is the funhouse fun? For whom is the funhouse a house?!
Better than a taskmaster ass-dungeon imo
Funhouse dungeons are not for me, but I really enjoyed this detailed, insightful review!
all hail the giant crab
Fun look at how a fellow gm runs one of my favorites. I agree with a lot of the ratings/assessments. Replacing the turnstile with metal detectors sounds like a super fun change β€οΈ
That would probably be a much different reading experience!
Everyone should do this and direct them to prismaticwasteland at gmail dot com!
Yeah my website canβt handle individualized international shipping yet. But I should have some extra copies sent to wholesalers with better infrastructure this summer if all goes well

Been so excited about the open table of Cloud Empress I'm running, so here's my first GM play report of it.

I'm too old to have any emotional investment in PokΓ©mon, I was 16 when the original games came out, it's not really something I have any real connection with. But (!!) I love that there are two different versions of this book with different PokΓ©mon. That's some top tier shit.
Hopefully the first in a new series of play reports detailing a campaign taking place in my custom sandbox for dungeon Module B1: In Search of the Unknown. #TTRPG #D&D #AD&D #OSR
One of the most anticipated games of the year is live now! TAVERS: The Meow Wolf Roleplaying Game is LIVE NOW on Kickstarter!
Don't forget! If you back within the first 48 hours, you'll get an exclusive embroidered d8 art patch.
We'll see you there: bit.ly/40JYRkS
I will speak of this bit for generations.
The funniest thing about assembling the final version of Vileplume Mountain was seeing how long ago I commissioned that cover (which you nailed, as always)
Hey so I know it's not the point of the screenshot but it would be nice to be credited as the cover artist for Vileplume Mountain since it's shown in the screenshot.
Any version exclusives in the original game are also exclusive here, although only my patrons ($1 a month at the basic tier) have the work-in-progress PDFs of both versions and know for sure about other exclusives.
Those should be available around the time the books ship to everyone who pre-ordered, so I would estimate May 2026. The best way to make sure you know when theyβre available would to get on my mailing list

I honestly may have stolen more from MyBa, but it actually was being developed *after* Into the Oddish. This project has been in the oven for a while!
I didnβt invent Pokemon, I discovered them. Deep in the jungles of Guyana on July 5th
New month, new newsletter. Talking about why I didn't blog this month haha
Also including a ton of links to posts I found interesting!
