And to hear her repeat that message back to me was so healing. It made my year to see her understand that moving her body has nothing to do with how it looks or what size it is β¦ but with what it allows her to do.

And yβall. The healing that one statement provided to me (currently & my inner child).
I internalized from an early age that all nutrition and fitness were with 1 goal in mind: make my body smaller.
But Iβve done a lot of work. And I consciously talk about my body and health goals differently now.
My 8-year-old daughter has started to go on runs with me. Our last one was 2 min running (at whatever pace she wants) and 2 min walking for 2 miles. She did great!
More importantly, during the run she started talking about how it was helping to make her stronger.
We just got home from our last Thanksgiving get-together and my 12-year-old willingly turned on Mariah Carey and we danced in the βstartβ of Christmas as a family.
AND THEN he suggested we do this every year as a tradition. This kid sure does know how to win his mama over β€οΈ
I see no time scheduled for opening the wine β¦
