Hello Ian - it's nice to get a nudge from you. I confess I have been remarkably absent - nether making images, nor writing. I am pondering setting up a Substack feed and promoting it on here - watch this space. Meanwhile, here is a gnarly old post......

Thanks Ashley! I have been pretty absent for the summer/autumn, but hope to reengage soon

I am celebrating the fact that it is now possible to send direct messages here. I will gradually be spending more time on here, and less on that other place. Do send me a DM to say hello.

The barbican is of course the Mecca for brutalist architecture. I try not to frequent subways (!), but the foot tunnel from Isle of Dogs to Greenwich is fun. Also, try to get a cheap copy of this: bluecrowmedia.com/products/bru...

I've been a bit absent recently, but here are some stones to make us all feel ephemeral

I use a recipe based on the caffenol cookbook: 16g soda, 4g vit-C, 6g salt, 12g coffee. I semi-stand develop: 50-60 mins with an inversion every 15 mins.

What a beautiful gesture - and in such a delightful location.

Yes, @davidtanner.bsky.social is right - I usually use Fomapan100 and the results are excellent. Foma 400 also works well, but not Foma 200.
Ilford FP4 and HP5 are both reckoned to be good with Caffenol, too.

A late moon scarred by cloud & the dark shape of a kestrel spilling on a wave of wind. Beyond the hedge, fieldfares snicker between trees in the gathering light.

Following the line of the beech trees again last night, leaning hard on the southerly wind; the trees roaring like a schooner in full sail, adrift on a pathless grey ocean.

These are truly beautiful, Monika. Good luck with the show.

I love this, Debra - it's like an ink wash painting

How wonderful! Thank you so much for that.

I shall look out for that! Do you have a date yet?

Across the open field, leaving the deep lane
Shuttered with branches, dark in the afternoon"

Lovely image - thanks for sharing

That's remarkable, Chris - never come across one in Cumbria before. Where did you find it, if you don't mind me asking?

These look great. I'd love to see you produce a different short story on each of them, sent to random friends.
