I’ve been thinking the same all week. How long does the war need to go on to kick-start broader shift to EVs/hybrids. We saw it happen in Gil War/Afghanistan w/ shift to smaller cars. SUVs/monster pick-ups a swing back in the other direction afterwards.

It’s interesting that Hegseth keeps big upping Trump like this, but it does one thing Trump hates: creates a paper trail of responsibility. When Trump tries to wiggle out of responsibility, there will be all these Hegseth quotes.

A striking feature of Trump and his team is: they somehow imagine a world in which they are the only actors, only ones with power, and whether it's Tehran or Minneapolis are surprised when it turns out others do. There are many kinds of power and many nations with power.
The lesson to Russia is that they should keep supporting their ally Iran, whether providing medical supplies or drones or missiles, to boost Russia's oil profits. I don't care how much Russia is spending on Iran, this war is straight-up profitable for them.
