Now more and more things are coming out about Persona, maybe it will convince people, but seeing how many people go for βso you like kidsβ when people express privacy concerns is so painful.
People should know better
**Furries** should know better.
I was heavily involved with the creative team until this was announced publically.
Putting so much effort into it only to suddenly cut ties sucks so much.
Lots of thoughts like.. I only get one life, do I hedonistically compromise my principles to keep working on a project I love?
idk
actually going insane with how many people are ok with what Furality are doing but not ok with what Discord are doing.
Giving up personal info to some sketchy likely-data-soak company for what?, is what's on the other side really that tasty?
Idk maybe I've lost my mind. It's possible at this point
same for marking things NSFW, if you get the option to tag it, that's definitely not something you are doing for yourself, or for others on the platform. all, *all* your input is training data.
My paranoid ass thinking people would argue discord is doing the right thing because of how many argue Furality is.
I mean, thatβs my hope, that VRChat wonβt go further down this road. As long as you self-moderate, keep it private and donβt get yourself reported.
Just the mere *risk* of these changes was enough to spook furality into requiring it though. So Itβs already having effects even if indirectly.
Yeah I shouldnβt have.
It was enough to spook furality into requiring age verification.
My hope is that VRChat donβt follow in the footsteps of Furality and Discord on this and keep the guidelines the same, but really all bets are off.
The video pretty explicitly contradicts the community guidelines, which indictates itβs an upcoming change. Something they are considering.
Along with things like forcing you to age verify to see avatars marked NSFW. Which would further isolate who donβt want to give their ID to persona
They stared by insinuating that I want my cock out with kids around. The gloves were off. They be better.
They can still back away from it. The VRC community guidelines still uphold the βkeep private things privateβ policy where itβs ok as long as you keep it in group or invite.
But this is βThe way things are goingβ
Im hoping they back away from this and donβt follow in Furality or Discords footsteps
Public spaces and non verified spaces, as in, to do adult things anywhere, age verify.
No? Since they are not age verified, they must be general audience, read it again.
This is what the whole furality debacle was about. VRChat is moving in the same direction as discord.
Are you retarded? Read it again
βPublic instances and non-verified spaces must be suitable for a general audience.β
This includes previously considered private spaces, where you can make sure you know everyone.
Group, Invite, etc.
Non verified spaces
I hold that non-verified spaces do not need to be suitable for a general audience, as long as itβs kept private.
Invite and Group instances are not nesseceraly age verified.
Same as discord, right? Better age verify there too.
Wonβt anyone think of the chiiillldrreeennnn meanwhile all your personal data gets sold off or leaked.
I hate this framing. Itβs disgusting. I want nothing to do with children. I donβt go to instances where there are kids. I also donβt want t
I donβt know how VRChat could be any more clear.
hello.vrchat.com/blog/trust-s...
βPublic instances and non-verified spaces must be suitable for a general audience.β
Non verified as in not age verified.
By accepting this requirement in your discord server, you are implicitly saying that people who are not comfortable with this technology are not welcome in your space.
I won't put that kind of social pressure on people I consider friends. I'd rather nuke the whole thing and leave.
In my view there's a balance to it.
Carving out a space where active debate and 'politics' is allowed makes it more volatile, which attracts the kind of person that enjoys that volatility.
It's easy to miss, slow drift to a space that's very, very toxic in the name of avoiding the Nazi bar.
(anxious gryphon sounds)
I guess, I'll still be around the same scene. See me at Stage Flight and maybe Placeholder Club, until this gets pushed on all Adult-but-SFW spaces and I go back underground where I belong.
