Super cool! Trivia: My band had a record cover in an exhibit at Cooper Hewitt once.
What where are you
It was funny how through my entire time we were still occasionally discovering games at the offices that hadnβt been updated because they made their presence very known out of nowhere.

I like how I am looking at email. Iβd recognize elm anywhere
I donβt know who needs to hear Jesse Jackson leading the kids on Sesame Street in this beautiful call-and-response reminding them that every child is somebody, but here it is
Someone set us up the bomb!
[Titicut Follies] brought viewers into a previously closed-off place and established an important truth that Wiseman would return to in the 43 documentaries that followed: You canβt separate people from the institutions theyβre part of, and their actions are shaped by them in powerful ways.
The drunk uncle theory.
You donβt argue with the casually homophobic uncle at Thanksgiving dinner to change his mind; you argue so that the closeted cousin at the kids table knows thereβs safe people and better possibilities out there
Saddened to hear of the passing of Frederick Wiseman. I took a documentary film class in college, and the screenings of High School, Hospital, and Titicut Follies are burned into my brain. Incredible body of work, so influential. RIP.
also, when you are terribly mid at something, you enjoy it for its own sake instead of immediately trying to figure out how to monetize an otherwise fulfilling and enjoyable hobby. Normalize doing things simply because you enjoy them, regardless of how good (or not) you are at them.

Shame on me for assuming βDemocracy dies in darknessβ was a warning instead of a playbook
My friend @koziarz.com is telling stories about Pat Lawlor Design, the company where we worked together designing pinball machines. Good reading and not just for the photos of when I had hair that wasnβt grey.

Oh hey friends, if youβre a Verizon customer and they are trying to give you the $20 desire for the outage the other day, DO NOT TAKE IT. You donβt have to even call them. Get onto the web chat, type in βagentβ, tell them the outage affected your work, and say youβve been a customer for X years.
Thatβs a good pick
Clockwork Orange for sure.
I mean you might actually use your entire credit then. We canβt have that.
the only thing that keeps me sane is the idea that my entire life is just a save state on a 17-year-old's galactic computer, and now he's just mashing the buttons because he's bored. any other explanation falls apart.
One of my most memorable filmgoing experiences was a screening of SΓ‘tΓ‘ntangΓ³ at Northwest Film Forum some years back. An enthralling experience. I've never been so glad I spent seven hours in a movie theatre. RIP BΓ©la Tarr.
