I do think “Graham Platner was a bartender who personally served some DC pundits and reporters and was known to them” is a pretty big part of the skeleton key to unlocking how he got so much cash and media attention so fast and why they’re so determined to stay all in on him now

It’s alarming to read rightwing things about Platner because as we know the GOP is going Nazi so now their narrative is —’see Democrats have Nazis too, they obviously don’t even care about Nazis, those hypocrites.‘ This is a dangerous time. I can’t believe people are making this kind of gamble.

This is what tons of people say they are doing —which is basically what one would do with google —but they somehow think the chatbot is scanning reality instead of feeding them data it has scraped just like google would but without revealing the sources (UNFORTUNATELY!) and confabulating some of it.
This is a very good encapsulation of how a lot of us feel about the impact of AI on a day to day basis which is that using it to find information can be more helpful than Google but a lot of that is because Google has gotten much worse

See all the warring, the killing of hundreds. The defense of letting children run the risk of disability and death with measles. Concentration camps being build. Then you go about your day.
The parents are doing this to children—who have no say in the matter.
I suppose every society will create such people but our society creates a lot of them and constantly raises them to power.
Hard to imagine what sort of people would do to the people of Iran what is being done to them for imaginary purposes. But I guess we know something of what these people are like. They don’t believe in truth. They want to destroy truth. They don’t display anything like normal moral values.
