Would you like a little rest?
I made this little video for you. It’s just trees. A small creek. Nothing happens. It’s 2 minutes long.

Illustration of a Shoebill, from the chest up. It has a sketchy look to it, and the muted colors resemble the birds realistically
The first lil guy I uploaded on here, the Shoebill (Balaeniceps rex)
Status: 🟠 Vulnerable
Shoebills are wetland birds native to Central Africa, standing roughly 5 feet tall (60 in). They are largely piscivorous but are known to eat frogs and even baby crocodiles!

No book is going to turn kids into someone else. But books will regularly show kids other people like them and show those kids they're not alone. And they'll show kids other types of people who also exist. There is a large proportion of the population who are terrified of this.
Painting of a Pink Lady's Slipper orchid done in the Chinese gongbi watercolor style photographed with Chinese brushes, an inkwell, a stone seal and porcelain container of seal ink.
Returning to my roots, a Pink Lady's Slipper in the Chinese gongbi watercolor style on rice paper. I decided to show it with some of my tools: a stone seal and ink, bamboo brushes, and my Chinese inkwell.

"Mimicry," by Remedios Varo, features a surreal, anthropomorphic figure seated in a room, exhibiting Varo's characteristic dreamlike style. The artwork reflects Varo's fascination with transformation and identity, marked by surreal elements like the human-like creature and mysterious furnishings, embodying themes frequent in her distinguished oeuvre.

An illustration of a kneeling fairy. She has a vine around her left thigh, hand on the right. Her left hand is poised at her cheek as she regards the viewer with parted, pouty lips. The palette of the pieces is a violet background, the fairy composed of a variety of purples and pale slightly grey blues and wonderfully neon greens. 🎨✨

Love is in the air at Edinburgh zoo. Pebbling marks the start of the breeding season for Gentoo penguins.
Kids at Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity painted pebbles for the penguins to choose from and present to their mates.
Do not clean up your garden yet, I am still growing my exoskeleton under the dead leaves

a sketch of a smartphone with tactile buttons for home/window/back, headphone jack, no AI BS, sim card thingy you can open with your nail, camera that doesn't cover the damn screen, and a 5 inch/127mm screen which is a reasonable size
I wouldn't say I'm massively into phones or anything but I sketched this out of frustration bc why are there no modern phones with these features, it would be so perfect and I'm mad the only ones are old and slow
i saw one swimming in the muck of my nearest wetland and it was the only time in my life I've thought the phrase "trundle along". what a majestic species.
i just added this to my to read list and WHAT A COVER.
I’m at an art gallery show featuring college student artist/scientist teams creating new works about climate hope and I just saw an exhibit on decomposition of fallen trees as a fertile home for other organisms that says “There Is No Death In This Ancient Forest” and it hit so hard I had to sit down

I hate that the sparkle icon is shorthand for AI. They want us to think it’s magic. Fuck you!!! Magic is when you lose a glob of mustard from your sandwich but it doesn’t land on you. When you win at 20 questions. Sparkles belong to Liberace. A baby’s smiling eyes. I will put you in the ground!!!!!!

your Destroy AI shirt is one of my favorites ever, i wear it entirely too often
A tumblr post from orteil42 (cookie clicker dev) that says: am i losing the drive to create things for an increasingly alien and hostile world whose mounting taste for fascism feels like a cold metal vise around my skull or am i just lazy and unmedicated and looking for excuses
