I miss everyone. I miss my old AIM friends whom I used to have forever chatrooms with. I miss my Neopet & GaiaOnline friends, where we madeup overdramatic rp storylines. I miss my livejournal friends who I spoke with every day for years, whom I went to cons with and shared so many moments with.

The migraine aura I spoke about happened last night, and I still am in a bit of pain today, but can see fine now at least.

Migraines can be scary. Make sure you're talking to your doctor about what you experience. Support migraine-havers in your life.

Except mine don't go away and tend to just get worse until the "attack" part of the migraine (aka the pain) hits. Which means sometimes I end up not being able to see what is right in front of me, despite my 20/20 vision.

This isn't unusual for migraines. Migraines are not "just headaches".

Also yes, migraines can include a variety of auras, I tend to get visual auras where my vision turns to static in certain areas, kind of like when you accidentally look at a bright light and then look away. The spot where you saw the bright light can be a blurry or fuzzy spot for a moment.

Yes, there's medications now to control migraines (they weren't available when I was a kid), but they also have pretty nasty sideeffects, so I've been avoiding being on them for as long as I can.

I'm lucky I can do this, and I don't judge anyone for using meds to control their migraines.

I've learned my migraine triggers, most of which I can avoid since they're food-related, but others I can't, like weather-related ones or certain kinds of bright lights. I used to have migraines 3-4 x a week when I was young but now have them 1-2 x a month, so I have them mostly under control.

For anyone new to my migraines: I've had them literally since I was a fetus. My mother had her first and only migraine while pregnant w me. They run in my dad's family. When I was a toddler, doctors did lots of scans bc they thought I had a brain tumor. I don't. I've had them my whole life.
