Being a software engineer at Stripe sounds like the worst job of all time. Just rubber stamping AI slop all fucking day. *Fuck* that!

WHAT DO YOU MEAN, CONTENT FOR KIDS? πππ
Modern minimalistic design is definitely extremely boring. I miss how beautiful icons used to be!
Wikipedia sections of an article. 1: early life and career as a pirate. 2: archbishop of York.
If you're looking for a sign to switch careers: this is the sign.

Beautiful!
Does anyone even care anymore? 15 years now since the last book was published, and 99% of people hated the final season of the show.
Trying to imagine something that could be bloopier than this:
Impossible.
Here is a video of a frozen creek that had begun to thaw, and the water was flowing beneath the thin ice on top. I took this because it was soothing and wonderfully bloopy and I wanted to listen to it for hours. You are all welcome to enjoy it, too. Let your brain settle here and rest for a moment.
BROOOOOOOOO
BUY THIS GAME IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED IT YET, IT'S SO GOOD!
"You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought: 'wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them?' So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."
I cannot recommend acupressure enough when you have a headache or you're feeling nauseous. Those $20 mats on amazon work great, as does just simple pressure on your wrist tendons. I've only recently discovered these, but what I wouldn't give to have known about them decades ago!
The βprosecute the former regime at every levelβ candidate has my vote in 2028.
Is there a web browser that adds useful metadata to file downloads automatically, e.g. the page URL where the file was downloaded from? If not, it seems like it'd be a pretty useful feature? @firefox.com @vivaldi.com @developer.chrome.com
2023 tweet screencap: the person asks "what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?"
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago
so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?
An AI browser whose only feature is detecting the nasty medical pictures you inevitably see whenever you search up even the most innocent medical issue you may be having, & hides them behind a click-to-reveal box with an AI generated description, so you only see them if you ***really*** want to.
Looks like this update broke Fitts' law on the workspace and vivaldi menu buttons. Please make them clickable from the very edge pixel when the window is maximized! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fitts's...
okay @ballxpit.com is the most fun i've had in any video game this year. inspiring!
Google Finance getting an overhaul after like... 15 years of literally zero updates? I don't know why I find that so funny, but I do! π
Chrome's adblock dying has really just shown how bad ads have gotten now huh
This appeared and fullscreened my window, hid my cursor, for clicking on a youtube download link lol
old people are just not built to handle this
ZUCK IT
The lawyers undoubtedly made off like bandits like they always do, but this is the first time I've gotten more than maybe $5 from a class action lawsuit. Next time I'm at the grocery store, I will be able to afford 4 grains of rice, instead of 3.
Imagine being paid to do this 30 years ago. π₯Ή
Are there any video games with dice-based enemies like this? Could be a fun idea. #gamedev
He looks like a creeper with arms though π
Claude helped me figure out that fetch() requests show up in Firefox's network tab only when keepalive is OFF. But WHY?! Chrome shows them no matter what, FF should too!
On top of some other weird bugs I've seen recently, it feels like FF is becoming the new MSIE ππ£π±
WHY DOESNT @firefox.com SHOW FETCH() REQUESTS IN DEVTOOLS NETWORK TAB WHYYYYYYY
Origin and referrer are technically different but for all intents and purposes, they are the exact same thing. Seeing this finally confirmed my suspicious, and further testing proved my hypothesis: Elements inside of an <iframe sandbox> will not send a referrer header.
I'm not saying that it shouldn't work this way, I'm just saying that it should be documented. The closest I found was mozilla's docs discussing various scenarios when the "origin" header might have a null value, and it mentioned sandboxed iframes. developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W...
Elements inside of an <iframe sandbox> will not send a referrer header, even if iframe is same origin, unless you have "allow-same-origin" set, which... mostly defeats the purpose of a sandbox.
This is not documented or discussed *anywhere* online

The mobile web is intentionally way more annoying than desktop, because these companies want you to install their apps so they can spy on you. Luckily, ad-blockers on mobile work just as well as desktop and filters out 99% of this garbage. I mostly only install apps if there's no other option.
