I also sorta have this feel that this comes from the whole "pc piracy" fallacy of them having lost sales - you know, the same story Nintendo tells.

Either Sony is going to be doing cutbacks to their studios (more 😭) or this is going to be a sort of "extended" exclusivity, I can see Ghost of Yotei showing up on PC by Holiday 2027 for example.

Breathes new life into old games and keeps the attention for the newest release on PS current Gen

Studios running on big investment money can't afford to keep a 3v3 multiplayer game going, but fans now run Age Of Empires Online (now on its second or third community-made expansion) on a smattering of Patreon donations a month.

if your multiplayer game has a peak of like 100k players its fucked. its dead. give up now. if it has a peak of 100 players and isnt out of early access and most of the updates are from a community mod because no one knows what the devs are doing: it will live forever
