...but the winner for me was Paradais. Deeply disturbing stream of conscious, boys will be boys, pressure cooker on the verge of exploding fable from a fantastic Mexican author. Need to read more by her.
Books I read in the month of February... The Getaway was riveting and a nice change of pace for me, Dear Stupid Penpal is charming epistolary fiction with a sci fi horror twist...
It's always so cool meeting these extremely small batch, no tasting room, wine makers who are bottling and selling their own stuff.

But every night, for about an hour, I could sit at a bar watch a new episode of Love Island at a TV covered restaurant in the parking lot of the Walt Whitman mall. Random girls would sometimes talk to me about their faves and how much they hated Huda. It stabilized me.
Weirdly sentimental about how Love Island rescued me last year, when everyone around me was sick and dying and the situation was changing so rapidly and I was responsible for everything from doctors appointments to funeral arrangements to real estate transactions.

I personally believe it’s good when people who had bad opinions change them into good opinions. I think we should celebrate that. Just not as much as we celebrate people like me, who only have good opinions

Pictures is superior, so no. The Strange Houses manga is definitely more entertaining, but I don't think that's done being translated... if it has the same ending as the novel, there's no saving it.
