Is there any reason the same functionality couldn't exist as a python library?

Instead of `$ python config.py && make all` there's generally no reason why you can't just have `config.py` build the project directly.

I'll go one step further and say a lot of these tools, rather than being libraries that emit a DSL which is then interpreted, should just be libraries in an interpreted language. I think a lot of time the advantages of the DSL are just imaginary
