2/ It started because, like many of us, I kept seeing the same patterns in news, politics, arguments online - and realising some us don't always have a name for what's happening.
Anchoring bias. False dilemmas. The illusory truth effect.
Once you can name it, you can see it.
We are watching a society, beaten down by years of engineered hopelessness, beginning to feel hope.
And it is absolutely joyous to see.

Honestly, the payoff here is when he imitates what he assumes people are reading when they read. He assumes it is about pirates.
Or, put another way, this is proportionally how much money you need to spend to keep people fighting each other rather than coming together to challenge the real power brokers.
A crucial part of right-wing psychology is not just the need to be heard - but for people to be forced to listen to you. That’s what they mean by free speech. It isn’t the speech they care about, it’s that everyone must be forced to endure their views.
