I voted for an end to this conflict because the American people deserve policies that do not raise already skyrocketing costs or drag our nation into endless war in the Middle East.
I voted for an end to this conflict because the American people deserve policies that do not raise already skyrocketing costs or drag our nation into endless war in the Middle East.
President Trump’s war on Iran has a real cost both to American servicemembers and families at home. This week, we saw the largest single-day rise in gasoline prices since 2022.
During these uncertain times, I’m so grateful for the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and all those who recognize the needs in their communities and continue to lean in.
My Democratic colleagues and I continue to work to reverse the harms of these policies, as well as partner with the community groups on the ground who are serving our most-impacted neighbors.
My team and I joined the NACAC sisterhood at their Town Hall and Resource Fair last Saturday on the Big Ugly Bill. From the largest cuts to health care and SNAP in American history to billions of dollars in funding for ICE, make no mistake that this legislation is harmful to Maryland families.
In 1989, one of Glen Burnie’s own outstanding educators and a civic powerhouse – the late Christine Davenport – led a group of 27 dynamic women to form the North Arundel County Alumnae Chapter (NACAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Today, I voted yes on Rep. Massie and @khanna.house.gov’s bipartisan War Powers Resolution to end hostilities with Iran. Here’s why:
Keep leaning in. Keep up the pressure.
News article from the New York Times on President Trump Ousting Norm as Homeland Security Secretary
Under Secretary Noem, undertrained agents flooded neighborhoods across the country with masks, guns, and no respect for due process. We need real reforms to ensure accountability and transparency from DHS and ICE, but this is undoubtedly some good news that came about thanks to your advocacy.
No matter who is in the White House, I will always fight to protect the fundamental democratic principles that our country was founded on.
As we face unprecedented attacks on our civil liberties and voting rights by the Trump Administration, I’m honored to have received an A on the @aclu.org’s Congressional scorecard!
We even got to pull out one of my favorite posters in the office from the opening of the National Aquarium in Baltimore!
As Vice Ranking Member of the House Natural Resources Committee, proud member of the Zoo and Aquarium Caucus, and the first AZA member to serve in Congress, I’m so grateful to have incredible local partners at the National Aquarium supporting the environmental interests of our communities.
That’s why I was thrilled to sit down with the Aquarium’s Acting President & her team to discuss our collaboration on combating wildlife trafficking while supporting the rescue of vulnerable animals, including sea turtles. (Fun fact: the National Aquarium is caring for 39 rescued sea turtles!)
Before serving in office, I started my career at the National Aquarium and my experience there helping to lead an anchor institution has continued to shape my work to this day.
With this legislation, we will continue thinking bigger, bolder, and faster on conservation so our communities can enjoy the Bay for generations to come.
That’s why I’m proud to work alongside @alsobrooks.senate.gov on the Maryland Whole Watershed Program Federal Partnership Act to ensure our state and local partners have the federal support necessary to continue these restoration efforts for our crucial Bay Watershed.
In just two years, we’ve already seen real progress from this act – from marsh restoration to combating invasive species in the Baltimore Harbor to addressing stream erosion in Hagerstown and more. But our state and local partners can’t do this work alone.
Rep. Elfreth introduces the Maryland Whole Watershed Program Federal Partnership Act
One of the most crucial pieces of legislation I worked on during my time in the State Senate was the Whole Watershed Act.

Whether it’s on the Natural Resources Committee or on the ground as we work to protect the Chesapeake Bay, I will continue working to defend critical clean energy investments and protect our neighbors from this Administration’s attacks on environmental justice.
The @lcv.org has been one of my closest partners from my time at the National Aquarium to the State House and now in Congress as a member of the Natural Resources Committee. That’s why I’m so proud to have received a score of 100% on their 2025 National Environmental Scorecard!
Americans don’t want endless wars. They want affordable groceries, utility bills, and rent.

The House chamber is not the set of a television series, and feeding into chaos, hate, and division serves no one. In times of uncertainty, the American people should be able to look to their leaders and trust that we will bring them together, not drive them apart.
Happy Purim! Today is an opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate the resiliency of the Jewish people with costumes, festivities, and grogger spinning. Wishing all those who celebrate in #MD03 a joyous day with lots of hamantaschen – Chag Purim Sameach!
